• Quick note - the problem with Youtube videos not embedding on the forum appears to have been fixed, thanks to ZiprHead. If you do still see problems let me know.

Took the words out of my mouth :)

Additionally, if the cue ball fell downwards and impacted a (secured) object ball, the two fell further and impacted another (secured) object ball ... and so on ... then it isn't like a pool table at all. Starting with a junk analogy marks the whole video as poop.

This is why I hate analogies in the first place. Usually, the few similarities are stretched to include other aspects that shouldn't be derived by the analogy. Then there are times when the analogy is way off from the start, like in this instance.

So what he is saying, is that someone put english on the plane as it hit the towers?

Oh, I noted quite a few problems most of which have pointed out. First, education by analogy is often useful but proof by analogy is not proof at all. For example, the model drop could have been 14 feet and the pool table vertical as some have pointed out.

Then there's the basic physics mistakes. The author seemed to confuse acceleration/deceleration with velocity increases and decreases. It's perfectly clear to me that you can have an object continue to accelerate while there is some resistive force acting on it, but apparently this eludes other people.

When I posted this it was to see if someone had a really easy to understand way of making the various points - analogies, scale, physics that I could use in correspondence from time to time. I continue to think that most truthers are just being duped and that greater clarity in explanation would work some good on some of them.

Some are duped but others are attracted for ideological reasons and no amount of evidence will convince them. There's also that human quality of not wanting to face up to being wrong on something.

I think many of us here think the video is wrong and NIST, Bazant etc. are right, because we actually have a sufficient background in high school physics and math, and we have looked into the the real papers enought to determine if they are dealing in real or or imagined science. That is, we have done the required hard work already.

Undoubtly, many of us here go by faith at least some of the way, not having received the proper education or read the relevant materials or double-checked their math etc.

Certainly, most of the guys who think the video is gread have some of those deficiencies and, for whatever reason, believe the wrong guys and wrong ideas. We can't hope to make them believe otherwise unless they actually acquire the relevant physics and math background, actually read the relevant paper, and actually do a little of the science and math to double-check the claims made in the papers.
We cannot realistically hope to achieve all that within the scope of some JREF posts or YT-comments.

If the force of gravity exceeds the forces acting opposite gravity, then there is a net acceleration, and hence an increase in downward velocity. Simple physics to me.

If I take a bowling ball up 1000 feet into the air, then drop it through 100 plastic sheets spread out vertically 10 feet apart each, the bowling ball will still be traveling faster when it hits the ground, then when it started. Was there a force acting against the ball each time it hit one of the sheets...yes, of course, but it was small. Hence, overall, acceleration and increase in velocity, occurs.

Why this is a hard concept for the truthers to grasp is mind boggling.

That is what I yelled at the video.

Chill Beachnut, there's no need to yell. Even I, the lowly truther, spotted the many, silly, simple mistakes that were made in this video.

All in all good video though. Two thumbs up.

Twoofer world is a very strange place indeed...
Do they practice Zen? I hope they do...

No, all in all a crappy video, because its fundamental premise is based on incorrect scientific statements.

No need to suck up to the author. He is falsely accusing based on lies, so if his feelings are hurt because of comments on his crappy video...he deserves it.

THis proves the accuracy of this statement by Travis, the bit about ideology in particular:

Some are duped but others are attracted for ideological reasons and no amount of evidence will convince them. There's also that human quality of not wanting to face up to being wrong on something.

Just watched again......great video. The silly, simple mistakes aside, the video clearly demonstrates this part of the conspiracy.

Bravo author!

Wow bravo, bravo... it's amazing proof and real ae911truth hard evidence. I guess the engineers that design these buildings either don't understand momentum or haven't seen the video. When they do, then I expect to get at least another 10 signatures on the petition.

As Richard Gage said a couple of weeks ago we have already got 40 structural engineers who have signed the petition. So out of the hundred thousand or so in the US we have a start.! Do you think they were not interested in the collapse of the WTC towers.

I really think that Richard should speak at the Structures Congress. A month or so ago there were 5,000 engineers in Orlando who went there to discuss things like fire and building safety.

We can't get less support in the industry so I really hope he goes to Pittsburg. It will be interesting to see what real engineers make of him.

I watched it again; the dumbest part, he thinks highly explosive nano-thermite was in the dust; a lie made up by Jones who is insane.

There is a conspiracy, someone is producing moronic videos on 911. An idiot tries to fool other idiots who can't figure out 911 given the answers and 8 years.

Here is another failed dolt on 911.

911 truth, 8 years of failure and comedy. Idiots, exposed on the Internet.

If the force of gravity exceeds the forces acting opposite gravity,

How is gravity for instance automatically more powerful than a pool ball being shot at another pool ball? Are you saying that the cue ball is being slowed down by gravity? Nothing shot the upper part of the WTC down to the ground. Nothing. It started from a dead set position. And it was less in mass than what it is claimed to have destroyed.
