Car Bomb Found in Time Square

You mean concerned about the erosion of civil-rights in America? The truth is, I don't think I would be all that concerned about civil rights if they weren't under constant assault since 2001.

I'll start out by saying I do not entirely disagree with you. I think that since the 9/11 attacks there's been a greater degree of fear-mongering by various political groups claiming that if their security-oriented agenda is not supported, then the terrorists will destroy the country. Some of this political agenda has included things such as the Patriot Act, which certainly could have an impact on privacy and rights. It would not surprise me if people used this car bombing incident to argue that the US is still in danger and that further measures are necessary... of course, I really can't say that's a problem or threat when I haven't actually seen any such arguments yet.

... That said, I do not believe this problem is particularly significant. I do not entirely like some of the things you mentioned, but I do not believe they are a major infringement on my rights nor do I believe they will lead to further erosion of our rights.

It's amusing to see all the people who were saying the bomber wannabe was a Tea Bagger of Militia guy trying to back track on the Politics forum. One even used "Well, Timothy Mc Veigh was a mad bomber" defense.........
COnfirmation Bias was a wonderful thing.
The only thing as over the top as a militant Tea Bagger is a Militant Anti Teabagger.

Would you name three rights of yours that have been "under constant assault" in recent years? Please be specific.

Do we even have a motive yet? Why is either side declaring victory?

Everyone likes their civil rights. What I'm asking you is what made you see conspiracies everywhere? At least acknowledge not every expression of fear by the government is an attempt to rob you of freedom.

The only one here who thinks our civil rights have been under constant assault since 2001 is INRM.

Oh wow, can I join the cool kids club too? I kinda agree with INRM but Travis says he is the only person here with the wrong opinions and I don't want to be a pariah. Bad INRM!

Anyone care to comment on the point made dudalb, I would like to hear what Thunder thinks now that the tea parties were not guilty for this terrorist attack like he had hoped.
