Car Bomb Found in Time Square

and Alex Jones hopes it was an agent provocateur.

Birds of a feather

Not quite. Truthers and teabaggers are known to exist. Agents provocateurs trying to make AJ look like a criminal are not.

From what I'm listening to on the news, they actually seem to be using this to invoke a greater fear of them muslim extremists.

Every once in awhile people stop cowering in abject terror, and the government likes to periodically keep people reminded that they should be scared like crazy about some kind of terrorist threat.

Scared people are willing to give up their rights in order to feel "safe".

Can you provide any evidence for anything you just posted, anything at all?

What specific rights have you lost? Be specific, please.

Oh you know he can't post those rights. Because the government took the right to say what rights he has lost

As I said in the other Current Events forum INRM, if you think you're rights are being taken away, then leave. Go to China and say some anti-communist things there and see what happens. And notice the irony of your post.

You are fearmongering in your post to try to make us afraid. Want to explain the double standard?

People are cowering in fear and giving up their rights???

Platypus looks around.... looks outside....looks down the street... comes back to the computer... :boggled:

Where? Where are all these cowering fear-filled people? What rights are they giving up? :boggled:

But yaaaa, it's those "agents" that make them look crazy :boggled:

What news are you listening to? I haven't listened to anything, but I just caught up on CNN's website. A Taliban group has claimed responsibility, sure, but officials have come right out and said they have no evidence to support that claim. This incident doesn't seem to have affected anyone much at all...

Because throngs of people calmly moving to 47th street and then hanging around to take pictures is how I envision a panicky public.

You seem more frightened than anyone else. You're like a furry, little, woodland animal... constantly fearful of predation and scurrying to safety at every little movement. That's got to be a horrible life for a human being.

your posts are just....useless.

welcome to ignore, INRM. its been fun.

I don't think it was a terrorist attack at all but a children's clown on the way to a party he was booked for. He had gas tanks to fill up the balloons, batteries and wires to make is nose light up and his tie spin and fire works for his acts finale. Unfortunately he had been drinking and whilst trying to light a cigarette he crashed, fearing he'd be done for drunk driving he made a run for it not realising that the cigarette was smouldering on the floor potentially setting fire to the car. He changed his clothes in an alley because he had a massive collar on his flowery shirt and he couldn't run in his massive trousers and gigantic shoes.

After reading the article..it's pretty clear the guy didn't know what he was doing. He was using m-88 firecrackers to try to explode a propane tank. While m-88's appear large, they only contain 50 mg of flash powder. They would do nothing to thick steel sides of propane container. He did have a gas can, but I don't believe they would do much to that either. He also had a bag of fertilizer that wasn't "explosive" grade, and would not have detonated....guess he didn't take any science classes.

Yeah, it's not the basic concept , but the lousy execution, that make me skeptical that Al Quida was behind it. They would have done a much more professional job.

Quite possibly enough of a Wiki-ninja to try to be dangerous.

Sounds just like the kind of stroke of genius that truthers, birthers and similar whackos come up with.

I doubt it was truthers, though. They´d have used thermite as an explosive.

Person of interest is a 40 something white male.

Did he come from Michigan?
