California Wildfire Wild Conspiracies

I have yet to find these CTs online yet, but I've heard around the office that people have heard these various CTs:

Arson: Several people have been arrested recently setting new fires. Including some guy on a Harley Davidson followed by a helicopter, and reported to police. (Sounds like too much detail to be true)

Arson/Immigration: Illegal Immigrants are setting the fires because they heard that ICE agents have been called off the border to help fight fires.

Arson/Immigration: Slumping home sales and therefore slumping demand for cheap illegal labor to build houses. This guarantees jobs. (Sounds like the economics parable of the broken window)

Arson/Economics: Homes defaulting. Collect insurance. (Unlikely on such a widespread scale)

Arson/Al Qaeda: 2003 FBI report says that Al Qaeda wrote down on a scrap of paper somewhere about starting fires in California

Environmentalists: Restricting loggers from clearing underbrush adds to the problems and creates a "tinderbox".

Arson/Class Warfare: Arsonists are setting the fires to burn down the homes of the rich and famous.

Meanwhile I'm glad I live in upstate NY where the only thing we have to worry about is a cold snowy winter.

Arson/Firefighters: Firefighters have been known to start forest fires to make sure they keep working.
 
I lived in San Diego as a child and was evacuated many time due to huge fires (never lost a house, though)

This conspiracy is at least 45 years old. I think it may be related to JFK, myself...;)
 
I heard this one repeatedly on the Randi Rhodes talk show yesterday, that the arson fires (and several fires here in SoCal really WERE set by arsonists) could have been set by - if you can believe this - BLACKWATER! Because they want to build a Blackwater base near San Diego and needed to burn the residents out. I hate Blackwater as much as any normal, mercenary-despising person should - but this is ridiculous.

I like Randi Rhodes, yet she does kind of thing every so often. Totally wild, woo speculation that busts her credibility down to zero, at times. I also like the Mike Malloy radio show. Sure enough - he started engaging in wild woo speculation on the wildfires last night. Unbelievable.
 
That is why I don't listen to ANY radio talk shows except for Jim Rome (a sports talk show). Left or Right,the temptation to go into Woo territory is too great.
And I get tired of the tactics all talk shows hosts use...selective evidence,half truths,etc. I am just sick of it, I don't give a damn if it is Limbaugh or RHodes.And for them to accuse each other of distorting evidence is the funniest thing ever.
In the case of wildfires,almost every case of Arson I have heard has turned out to be the work of a nutjob,pure and simple.
The head of the fire program at the Federal Agency where I work in Sacramento..a very busy man these past few days...would to find the person who starts these "firefighters started the fires" rumors and kick the crap out of him.
Of course,rumors like this are nothing new. Remember how the Catholics started the Great Fire Of London?
 
Stupid doesn't even describe what you just mentioned Consipradier. Anything to boost rating or annoy people maybe. What station is Randi Rhodes on? I'm a little curious now that level of nonsense is practically funny.
 
I know one thing about the fires is that it provides conclusive proof that the ebil gobernment is spraying us with chemicals. Chemtrails I tell ya!

A typical candle wick burns at about 911 degrees. The fires are burning in California. If it looks like a duck has water on it's back it might weight the same as a witch. :)

Not sure, in your area. She's on KTLK 1150 here in Los Angeles, but she is not on a lot of stations. Nothing like Limbaugh or Hannity, for example. She does the show from NYC.

The one progressive talk show where you can expect to NOT hear woo, is the Ed Schultz Show. He's good. Not surprisingly, he's at the top of the ratings in the progressive talk show market. What happens with many progressive / liberal talk show hosts is that they fail to recognize the line of woo in the sand. They don't see it often enough, and blunder right across it. Hurts their credibility. Schultz, however, manages to suss out that line and avoid the blunders, typically.
 
Look at the sheeple blinded by the absurd theories yet not able to see the truth right in front o their eyes, which are the government weather control systems used to create the windws to spread the fires.

I forgot... Arnold Schwartzenegger refused to let Dick Cheney "swing" with Maria Shriver... and this is PAYBACK 2007.
 
I was listening to Thom Hartman and he gave me the idea that it's the Forest Logging Industry starting the fires so government officials will call for more trees to be cut, help FLI. :boxedin:

Schultz I do listen to occasionally.He is one of the few political talk show hosts I can stand.
He is one of the few talk show hosts who knows how to appeal to the unconverted,unlike most who seem to just preach to the already converted,probbaly because it is easier.
It is easy to despise cheap shots and phony tactics when people you disagree with use them,what is more important..and harder...is to see them when people you agree with use them.
