No, Huntster's coherent! I think he and I would disagree on most topics, but I think I could spend four hours in a pub with him discussing them. Huntster can be irrascible, but I know a certain atheist who can, too. :spjimlad: :spjimlad:

Apparently all those little yellow flags added up. CM's been suspended. I have to admit, I was thinking of reporting him - fair play and all that, 'cuz I recall someone else getting booted for the same infraction but much less flagrant.... but I can never bring myself to report someone.

When I worked for the U.S. Treasury Financial Department which sends out the Social Security Checks and other payments, I first worked in return check section. We would once in a great while get a check back with all kinds of writing all over them written like our friend CM, but mostly it was written in red ink.

I went to bed early last night and missed all the fireworks. I'm almost a little sad to see our lumberjack friend get the axe (temporarily, at least) 'cause I would have really liked to hear what he had to say once he sobered up.

I'm a little surprised because I had him pegged as a harmless idiot. I guess the lesson I should learn is, "stupidity is never harmless".

Well, we have a tie in the posters in this thread alone! :popcorn2 I have an even-tempered judicious persona for boards, but I'm sure I could get suspended, as I do tend to react viscerally sometimes, and I'm a confirmed, if not devout atheist, anti-CT, anti-parapsychobabble, etc... I know I've been warned off a couple of times...

I think most of the suspensions and bannings for other than trolling and spamming have been from the CT board of late. I'm not here that long but I think there was a legendary troll 1-in-christ or something like that, but I'm not sure if he was suspended/banned or was called back to the rapture.

In short... Uh, I don't know. (I suspect that politics will heat up heading towards the '08 elections, and tempers do tend to flare there.)

I agree with Tricky, though, as I stated above. All I can assume by the gradual anger to complete irrationality is that this was alcohol induced. (Either that or he's a troll who's just been playing "thoughtful" and waiting to unload.) And frankly, the posts Tricky/Huntster/T.A. were more interesting than the mindless ranting. (I was just reading along innocently and then this train wreck came along, officer, I swear!)
 
I have found, so far, that the religious that show up on most forums have a very low to none understanding of science. Science takes a lot of time and effort to learn, and anybody that has studied by and large understands this. They watch too many old sci-fi moves of the lone mad scientist, and haven’t a clue to how most research is done and the effect that it takes to come up with a theory and that a theory can be shot down at anytime when it as been found to be wrong. I think and maybe not, Einstein said, and I paragraph, “Nothing can prove me to be absolutely right, but anything can prove me wrong”.

It's a dangerous thing for a pugilistic person of faith to come to a forum like this, so full of anti-religious people who like to taunt and post irreverent things like this. It can be even more infuriating when others defend such outrages.

It shouldn't be surprising to see tempers flare.
