Bumper sticker. . .(shudder)

It's amazing how some who claim to be "scientific" will pooh-pooh ancient and aboriginal flood stories...
What are are you talking about?

...then turn around and (with a straight face) tell us all about Beringia, how it occurred repeatedly, and in their incredible intelligence, they just can't get the clue.
Clue about what?

Thanks for proving the point.

Work on it.

What the hell are you talking about? Your smug rejoinder does not prove anything. The bible details a SINGLE flood. Science accepts that there were many small localized floods. It is this fact that puts the lie to the flood story.

You work on it.

Stories mean a lot more to some people then evidence, you know the old stories about witches, I guess with your logic that must be true too.

What an idiot! You're so focused on your anti-Bible ideology you seem to forget that there are other people/religions/histories out there:

Native global flood stories are documented as history or legend in almost every region on earth. Old world missionaries reported their amazement at finding remote tribes already possessing legends with tremendous similarities to the Bible's accounts of the worldwide flood.....

Science accepts that there were many small localized floods. It is this fact that puts the lie to the flood story.

Science "accepts" that there were floods, and it proves that there was no flood?

You're a real gem. And you wonder why I call you bizarre.

What an idiot!
There is that Christ like love again. Thanks.

No, I'm just trying to figure out what you are talking about which is why I asked you a question.

Science "accepts" that there were floods, and it proves that there was no flood?
No Huntster, THE flood, the one that covered the entire earth.

You're a real gem. And you wonder why I call you bizarre.
And you are rude. I simply asked you a question and you would not answer me.

Now it's back to the attempts to shame me with the very book that you so roundly reject.
You are the one that believes in living by the precepts of bible. Remember turn the other cheek? Remember praying for them that spitefully use you.

1.) I'm not rude to you.
2.) I'm not abusive to you.
3.) You are rude to me.
4.) You are abusive to me.

Yeah. That's "intellectual honesty", all right:
How is it dishonest to point out YOUR hypocrisy?

Huntster, I would be willing to accept this if it were true. How am I a viper? I have not lied. I have not been rude. Disagreeing with you does not make me a viper. I have simply demonstrated that the bible documents that god ordered the murder of children. For that I should not be labeled a viper? No, to do so is disingenuous and rude.

Yeah, I should be more Christ-like. But I'm a very proficient sinner who is in utter awe at the power of Christ's sacrifice, thankful that his loving sacrifice will save me because I believe in it and rely on it, and really tired of BS artists like yourself who like to try to take that away from me.

Remember turn the other cheek?

Yeah. The other scarred-up cheek. I remember it. It's still stinging..........

Remember praying for them that spitefully use you.

Oh, I do! In fact, I'll take a 10 second break here from the keyboard to say a prayer for you right now...............................

Ahhhhhh.................Much better...................

Sorry. I'm a bit too gruff sometimes.

BS affects me that way.

It's done in a vain attempt to escape your own hypocrisy.

Huntster, I would be willing to accept this if it were true. How am I a viper?

Camoflaged. Lying in wait for the prey to pass by, then sometimes using the flicker of a tail like an insect to attract the victim.

Then comes a strike, with poison injected.

Then the victim is swallowed whole.

Finally, the predator slithers away silently for a long time, digesting it's victim.

I have not lied.

I think you're lying to yourself. You certainly aren't lying to me, and if you did, it wouldn't work, anyway.

I don't believe a damned thing you write.

I have not been rude.

I agree.

Disagreeing with you does not make me a viper.

What made the Pharisees vipers?

What sacrifice, not being a human anymore and to be a so-called god again, do you what to buy a bridge.

Paul

:) :) :)

...do you what to buy a bridge....

If the price is right, I sure do. Alaska needs lots of bridges. We tried to get a couple built not long ago, and they became political footballs.

We really could'a used them, especially the Gravina Island bridge.

Because it makes perfect sense to me.

1.) The bible says that god orderd Moses to murder children.
2.) I post the scripture that proves that fact.
3.) You say that it doesn't make sense.
4.) I ask how?
5.) You say, because it makes sense to you.

Here is my question, what?

1. The bible says that god orderd Moses to murder children.

No, it doesn't.

2.) I post the scripture that proves that fact.

No, you didn't. You omitted a full 15 verses, which showed that it was Moses who specifically ordered the deaths of the women and children.

3.) You say that it doesn't make sense.

I say you don't make sense.

4.) I ask how?

Because you're trying to convict God in any way you can, because I think you hate Him.

5.) You say, because it makes sense to you.

Yup.

Here is my question, what?

Whatever the hell it was we were discussing.

See? This is what I mean. You are impossible to debate because you simply do the "what?" thing. You run in circles. You even lose yourself.

You omitted a full 15 verses, which showed that it was Moses who specifically ordered the deaths of the women and children.
1.) God ordered Moses to take revenge.
2.) God knew that Moses would murder children.
3.) God did not stop it.
4.) God did not punish Moses for an attrocity.

Because you're trying to convict God in any way you can, because I think you hate Him.
No. I'm trying to demonstrate that the bible is a very poor source for morality or wisdom. Based on this scripture and the one in Psalms there are 3 options.
  1. God doesn't exist.
  2. God is not moral, just or decent.
  3. God does exist but the Bible, in many ways including this one, is not a source for morality or god's wisdom.

No one denies thaat there have been ancient floods. No one denies that sea level has been lower in the past (especially during glacial periods) and higher in the past (especially during the Cretaceous) than it is now. None of that supports the ancient (aboriginal?) flood stories. If you would like this explained, I'd be glad to do so. I love geology and earth history.

No, thanks.

I think I'd prefer charming a cobra.
