Stop talking down Britain by mentioning all the bad sides about Brexit dammit! It's demoralizing and they should instead give people empty promises about how amazing Britain outside of the EU will be like the lie about how the NHS would get an extra 350 million pounds a week! That was a really good lie wasn't it?

You're a patriot aren't you? Lie for Britain! Lie for Brexit!

As I've been saying for a while, it's all about engendering that "Blitz Spirit". Convince the British that we're pluckily standing up to those horrid foreigners and no matter how stupid the course of action we are embarking upon, we'll back it 100%.

The more dire the consequences, the more completely we'll support it. It's an easily exploited trait that in some cases is a boon, but in this case is a flaw.

Meanwhile two pieces of news from Boris

1) He won't pay the exit bill if he thinks it's too high
2) There's no contingency plan for there being no deal

Given 1) I think they should reconsider 2)

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has told MPs the European Union can "go whistle" for any "extortionate" final payment from the UK on Brexit.

And he said that the government had "no plan" for what to do in the event of no deal being agreed with the EU.

With several months of hard and diligent work, this government could raise the state of preparedness to the status of "utter shambles"

Yes. On the surface things seem to be getting worse but I suspect that's not the case. What's really happening is that it's just becoming clearer what a cock-up the whole business is.

....but we'll force it through regardless because 52% of those that voted in the referendum voted to leave the EU - whatever the cost

Of course the reason we will have Brexit at any cost is that the leaders of the two largest parties are absolutely committed to it (despite both nominally supporting the Remain campaign).

I wouldn't be shocked to find (yet another) Dunning Kruger effect.

Those who think they know most about the EU, and were most confident about being right do relatively poorly.

Well, being able to identify (eg) Angela Eagle in a line up doesn't strike me as all that important, in the grand scheme of things. Though I (somehow) managed to do just that.

Or which picture of a bloke in a suit was thingy (I didn't get this one).

Still...should have got Strasbourg (got the wrong -bourg!).

And is 2.8 million EU peoples in the UK so far off the (apparently) 3.2 million? Though I did think it was 3, but couldn't find that option.

I did guess my result though...

All in all, there were a number of questions I'm not sure were particularly indicative of being well read on the subject. I hope there's some interesting filter planned for analysing these results.

Damn stupid poll. Rather like those British citizenship tests that ask you to guess the number of people living in Wales, or how many Corgis the Queen has.

Below is a link to an academic questionnaire compiled by UCL. They're attempting to gather information about knowledge about Brexit and the EU among Leave and Remain voters alike.

I got 80 percent. I didn't know the percentage of the EU budget, numbers of immigrants, origin of the largest number (I went for one of the obvious ones, but it was the other obvious one) or bizarre law. Some were guesses as well (year of EU elections).

Genuinely frightening how incompetent they seem to be....

There's no seem about it. Look at their non-Brexit performance:

May elected leader, insists there is no need for a snap election and she will go until 2020, then do a U-turn because the polls look good.

Conduct a GE campaign where May avoids public debate and their flagship policy has to be dumped after provoking outrage. Sneer at opposition and denounce their policies as dangerous, invoke the 'magic money tree' to deride them.

Find the aforementioned tree to bribe a bunch of religious zealots to keep May in power after losing the majority she promised to increase.

Made an utter mess of the aftermath of the Grenfell House fire.

Have various ministers briefing against May's austerity policy.

Call on the opposition previously called reckless and dangerous to 'contribute rather than criticize'.

The May government is a shambles, the notion of it being able to play hardball in the Brexit negotiations is laughable.
