Brexit: Now What? Part II

BBC is always negative about Brexit. They are very biassed.

Only because of their ludicrous insistence that they actually consider the facts rather than lies and propaganda - but I can see how that comes across as being negative about Brexit

The Chancellor also said that Britain will still have one of the fastest growing economies in the world - on a par with Germany but much faster than most other European countries such as France or Italy.

...and ?

The UK economy will be in a far worse position than it would have been had the Brexit vote not gone the way it did.

Um...that's from Hammond's own statement.
Or is he somehow negative about Brexit.
Frankly, as Chancellor, he bloody ought to be...but somehow I doubt it.

The OBR admitted that their (usually wildly inaccurate) predictions are even more uncertain than usual due to Brexit. No one really knows yet. Things could turn out much better or much worse than they are predicting. It's a time of change and therefore a big opportunity for dynamic entrepreneurs to make their mark.

Well that's just hunky-dory. I'm sure "£350m a week" can more than plug that £32bn shortfall. I mean I know that £350m x 52 is less than £32bn but that's because I'm a maths "expert" and thus can be safely ignored
We will be

£122bn worse off in the period until 2021

£122bn / 52 week / 5 years is £469M a week.

but on the bright side there will be fewer immigrants coming over here and paying us taxes, curing our patients, etc.

Don't forget that we have to keep paying the EU until such time that we actually leave - 2019 at the earliest. Many Europhiles are advocating that we continue to pay them even after we've left - as a sort of bribe to stop them imposing harsher levies on our exports, or something like that.

In what way is this "bias" responsible for the more than thirty billion pounds lost to the economy after the referendum?

The Chancellor also said that Britain will still have one of the fastest growing economies in the world - on a par with Germany but much faster than most other European countries such as France or Italy.
And the reality?

Well, yes it was his statement - but the economic predictions all come from the (supposedly independent) OBR - Office for Budget Responsibility.

Hammond accepts them!
Or do you think that (as he was opposed to Brexit) he's trying to point out that it's madness?

I wouldn't blame him...

As usual a gross distortion of the truth - what a shock

It's not a bribe unless you think that fulfilling your financial obligations which are part of belonging to an organisation is a bribe - such as "By paying my subs, I've bribed the snooker club to take me as a member".

Also, the EU won't be "imposing harsher levies on our exports" as you put it, we'll just lose our benefits of being part of the "club" we were previously members of. Our local tennis club has two separate price lists on the bar, one for members and one for non-members. I'm not a member so pay the higher price - I guess you'd say that they had "imposed higher prices" as punishment for me not being a member

Ooh...Google!
You know they'd never have gone for their new office in London without us having left the EU.

Or Nissan!

Wibble...arfle...

The proletariat of the UK has liberated itself from the International Capitalist Cartel, and stuff like that.

Think I read something about that in the BBC website....

......wait, what ?

It seems that by your count, everybody not agreeing to your view is biased. Except the part you agree with. Ho wonder.

I only have one. Brexit immediately made Cameron unperson and vaporise himself, and disappear. That was some comfort.

That makes it sound like the UK's economic motto is:

The United Kingdom. Economically 2nd to Germany since 1871.

Ten years of the Tory austerity cutting to reduce borrowing and debt and it's as bad as ever and they say it will be worse.
