Looking forward to it, its going to be funny to watch the country crash and burn.
According to The Economist (and The Sun), Boris Johnson would delay Brexit for 6 months:
The Sun revealed that Mr Johnson had talked to “senior Tories” about making a leadership bid and said that, if he were to do so, he’d delay Brexit for at least six months in order to restart negotiations.

Would Johnson handle this situation better than dancer Theresa May?

Car sales plunge as Nissan warns on Brexit

The number of total vehicles registered was down 20.5% on the same period in 2017 at 338,834, the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said.

Carmakers had struggled with "a raft of upheavals" including adjusting to stricter emissions standards, it added.

Meanwhile, Nissan said a no-deal Brexit would have "serious implications".

The Japanese firm, which employs almost 7,000 people at its Sunderland plant, urged the UK and the EU to "work towards a balanced Brexit".

3. The Treaties shall cease to apply to the State in question from the date of entry into force of the withdrawal agreement or, failing that, two years after the notification referred to in paragraph 2, unless the European Council, in agreement with the Member State concerned, unanimously decides to extend this period.

Bolding by me.

I'd love to see Boris going to the EU to beg for 6 more months of chaos. Would he even get the question out before he was escorted off the premises?

Remember this is the guy that likened the EU to Nazis... more than once as it happens.

It is exactly what is happening, all the UKs international trade agreements were negotiated through the EU. And cease to apply when we exit.

Unless they don't. That's why we use the word 'deal' as opposed to 'stuff it all and leave on Monday'. And even if this were the case, it would be a short-term set back. The idea that Great Britain, once dissociated from the inefficient and unelected bureaucratic dictatorship of the EU, would just sit on its arse and get what's handed to it as opposed to negotiating new and better deals is defeatist nonsense. What will happen is that after BREXIT there will be a slowing of the economy, and just possibly a downturn, which will resolve within a short time period. I can't think of many instances of substantive change where this pattern does not hold true.

Sorry, but EU trade deals will not apply to the UK. Because you are leaving. Pretending otherwise will not help you.

Leaving the EU doesn't mean we can't do deals with the EU. What do you think people are even negotiating?

This is what you are negotiating :

2. A Member State which decides to withdraw shall notify the European Council of its intention. In the light of the guidelines provided by the European Council, the Union shall negotiate and conclude an agreement with that State, setting out the arrangements for its withdrawal, taking account of the framework for its future relationship with the Union.
You are negotiating "arrangements for withdrawal", nothing about trade.
You have absolutely no idea what is going on do you?

Try reading this bit as well :

So basically this whole thing was a grandiose version of a wife asking her husband if her new dress makes her butt look bit? Ask a question you know they are going to answer wrong so you can punish them?

Sod that noise.

Not exactly they expected to win. The goal was to have a stupid vote that lost to get the agitators to shut up about it and stop being a pain in the butt. Why else did everyone behind the vote leave government and walk away right after it won, including its biggest proponents? Because it was a dumb idea and they knew it and they didn't want to have to take the blame when it inevitably failed.

And we're right back to "Yeah we were bluffing but we never expected to have our bluff actually called!"

But was that in a good way or in a bad way?

And we're right back to "Yeah we were bluffing but we never expected to have our bluff actually called!"

Yea exactly. That was the whole point. It wasn't because it was a good idea it was internal party politics. It just got to screw over the whole nation because of lies told before the vote.

But that it the core of democracy. A suicide pact based on a bluff.

Yes, ISTM that's exactly what happened. It was unbelievably stupid on the part of Cameron and his government, and now we're stuck with the results. If they'd done it sensibly they'd at least have included some details of what sort of terms leaving the EU was to be done on, but they never expected anything but a win for Remain so they didn't bother.

I don't know what you're talking about. Discussions on trade have been ongoing for months. It's Phase 3 of the negotiations.

LOL, Having the Conservative party talk to itself about trade is not negotiating a trade agreement.
