I hope I don't get suspended for saying this but there seems to be an interesting article today on the internet, I think from the Independent newspaper, about the Queen's possible opinions about Brexit and what she thought about Thatcher:

https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/roya...matic-records-show/ar-AABCRFr?ocid=spartanntp

The Queen expressed support for EU integration at a historic meeting with German diplomats, a declassified account of a meeting shows.
A diplomatic cable written by Ambassador Rüdiger Freiherr von Wechmar after a meeting with the monarch in 1988 says that the Queen left “no doubt that the future of Britain lies in Europe”.

The ambassador spoke with Elizabeth II for a farewell meeting at the German embassy in London and relayed his conversation back to his government.
The account of the meeting, reported by German’s Der Spiegel outlet, sheds light on the private views of the monarch, who has made an effort to keep out of politics throughout her reign – including in the Brexit debate.

Farage has refused to get off his bus in Wakefield after this morning's milkshake incident in Newcastle.

He told reporters "I would be mobbed within 30 seconds".

Pretty craven for a man who threatened unrest and to "pick up a rifle" His fantasy civil war wouldn't amount to much.

I'm sure that it's just one of a host of issues facing British Steel but it seems that an inability to claim carbon credits and orders shrinking as a result of the Brexit vote is a significant factor in the company teetering on the brink of going out of business:

British Steel is on the verge of administration as it continues to lobby for government backing, sources say.

The UK's second-biggest steel maker had been trying to secure £75m in financial support to help it to address "Brexit-related issues".

If the firm does not get the cash it would put 4,000 jobs at risk and endanger 20,000 in the supply chain.

Then again, it was bought by a private equity company for £1 and has received £100m in government loans (funny, I was told by Jeremy Corbyn and others that EU rules prevented that kind of thing ) to pay their carbon tax bill. Perhaps this is the latest in a series of shakedowns in which millions of pounds are transferred from tax payers to the private equity company at the expense of the thousands of workers who briefly and unjustifiably had their hopes of keeping their jobs raised.

At this stage maybe it's just throwing good money after bad

In other news, and on the Times front page, Dominic Raab (one of the favourites to become PM after Theresa May) is calling for a cut in income tax to make things fairer.

US-style voodoo economics from the people who want to bring us hormone-fed beef, remove regulation and implement a US-style healthcare system

Yorkshire & Humber has differing recommendations depending on who you ask about tactical voting:
According to the tactical voting guide, Remain Voter, the Lib Dems can win a seat in the region. It therefore recommends voting for the Greens to help stop Nigel Farage.

Remain United, on the other hand, suggests voting Lib Dem as the strongest Remain party in the region.

Polling by Best for Britain suggests the Greens are the strongest party for stopping Brexit.

Same for Wales:

According to the tactical voting guide, Remain Voter, Plaid Cyrmu look secure in the region. It therefore recommends voting for the Lib Dems to stop Nigel Farage.

Remain United, on the other hand, suggests voting Plaid Cymru as the strongest Remain party.

I intend to vote Plaid.

More indicative than an MP being murdered?

Left wing politician being murdered by someone expressing pro-Brexit sentiments - a completely out of context and atypical occurrence which should not reflect badly on Leave.

Right wing politician having a milkshake thrown at them - a breakdown in the democratic process which demonstrates how evil all Remainers are and a clear indication of the anarchy that surely must follow if The Will of The British PeopleTM is not respected.

Interesting site trying to advise how to maximise the remain seats by tactical voting:

https://www.remainvoter.com/

Looks as though I'll be voting Green

So there's an official Brexit party now.

I brought up the idea a few months ago that there should be a Remain Party too, as just a one-issue party to attract people of any political persuasion in favor of Remain.

I don't think that the EU would agree, because as well as continuing to trade with the EU, the Brexiteers would want the UK to diverge from the EU on standards and not be bound by EU laws and so on.

I'm pretty sure Brexiteers would mind, but they're the ones advocating for it.

In the Brexiteers mind, the UK would not be a toothless ruletaker, it would be proudly setting its own rules and standards (perhaps loosening employee and environmental legislation to US levels) whilst at the same time continuing to do business with the EU on the current basis.

What is this "Brexiteers mind" you speak of? No such entity exist, surely?

That aside, yes, I'm sure they hold the opinion WTO article 24 means UK can change whatever it wants but everything stays the same. Someone should tell them this is contradictory already. However a long Norway+ style transition period is as good solution as any to Brexit. Given how emotional the question is and how much propaganda UK has swallowed, the Brexiteers will stop at nothing to achieve Brexit. They see it as their ultimate goal and Nigel and other vermin keep stroking it. Hold another referendum and they'll demand another, or else claim this one didn't count anyway. Brexit party will run in national elections and win seats in Westminster. They will not stop, unless stopped.

So maybe it's best to let the softest of the soft Brexits be the first step? They'll want more, they'll demand more, but if they're confronted with the harsh truth time and time again maybe their recruitment numbers will drop and natural attrition will take enough away for them to no longer matter. Plus the "treason" speak can be met with "we left the EU in accordance with the referendum, if you want to leave the customs union and single market, we can have a referendum on those". Leave the EU on WTO24 (with EU being the rulemaker) and later hold two referendums (on the same day) about leaving the customs union and the single market. Have sensible rules this time, run a strong campaign on Brexiteer lies. Use their own quotes "It won't be worse than WW2" is a perfect campaign slogan. Win those referendums and tell Nigel to STFU already. He's scum, he won't shut up, but it's hard to campaign on "my referendum was followed, so theirs should not be", even though you spin it like only Nigel can. It should work well enough to avert disaster, I think. Brexiteers will remain a potent force, but no longer the kind that can win elections. As stated above natural attrition will take care of the rest. It's Fabian strategy, really - allow enemy to take what you can afford to lose and have him bleed slowly over a decade, until you can slay him. UK will suffer, but that is unavoidable. Thank the Conservatives, Corbyn and retard media for that.

It's that, or the firing squads for treason. I'm game, ample evidence should be available with their finances and go parallel to recent revalations in Austria.
