It's really his only hope. I'd be surprised if any of his family are called to testify by his defense, I can see some of his friends.
His actions after the attack, up to and including the night of his capture, pretty much seal his fate for life. How long that's going to be is really the only thing in question.
We now have two high profile trials going on around here. This one is not going to be the circus.........

What did this video show that "proved" he did it? Exactly what is the time stamp that showed him dropping the bag? How is his running away "suspicious"? In the video I see him running away... Just like everyone else. Show the corresponding still of the cleanup where the bag was detonated and left a scorch mark.

Are you trying to make a point? Why can't she run with damage to her? Was your point women can run with injuries, but NFL players are little boys who can't run due to pain, crying about possible lost careers; vs, being blown up by a terrorist who fell for 911 lies like you do.

Dislocations, like all things, are a spectrum. Not all dislocations are as severe as you imply with your first image as I well know from first hand experience.
In extremis, pumped up on adrenalin, people are capable of extraordinary feats. Running away on a dislocated ankle is mundane under such circumstances.

I crashed a motorbike and broke my arm, I didn't even notice until I tried to pick my bike back up and it wouldn't move right. It didn't hurt until 10 - 15 minutes later.

It's not a matter of if Tsarnaev was involved it's to what extent. His lawyers are not arguing he was involved. They're trying to keep him from the death penalty.
Personally I have no real problem with the death penalty but in this case I'd like to see him rot in prison. No martyr for this guy.

Indeed. The lawyers have conceded that he was a part of it, only that he shouldn't be found guilty (their best case) or shouldn't be given the death penalty if found guilty (far more likely) because he was under the influence of his older brother. Imposing the death penalty would make him into a martyr in some circles, I don't think it's worth imposing it.

Ankles in particular are known for being unpredictable and hard to diagnose, as patients respond differently than expected to various afflictions to that part of the body.
