Book Test: Max & Any Others Interested

Round 18 is over, and Barbara Bates scored her second hit in 8 tries.

The new script made updating the results much easier, and the new streamlined results page should be easier to view on a wide variety of browsers!

Right Paj, admit it your test is rigged!

There are 15 books, I've had 15 attempts and not got one right.

That's impossible I MUST have got 1 right in 15 attempts!

(Stupid bloody test  )

I'd have done better guessing...

You'd like that, wouldn't you? It's all an elaborate ruse just to make you think you're going mad. :D

Just console yourself with the possibility that you're demonstrating I-Ian's beloved PSI-missing.

Here are the frequencies at which people have picked books so far:

Code:
Dirk Gently 18
Holland 15
Shirley 17
Bonfire 16
Hobbit 23
Delphi 21
Chocolat 10
Magic 7
Simpsons 12
History 11
Bookends 10
Conception 12
Tweenies 13
Schrodinger 18
Reservoir 9
Total 212

Of course, these should not influence future choices, but they might be of interest.

I've entered three rounds of the test now, and still don't appear at all on the results chart.

Maybe my firewall stops my entry from being registered?

Again, no hits. Darat's starting to look like a PSI-anithero.

And I am genuinely trying - it is just not fair!

(Wonder how many wrong guesses I have to make before it becomes “statically significant”?)

I've never seen your name come up on the entry file, certainly. But it's only a normal html form, so I can't imagine a firewall getting in the way.

Have another go. Do you get your name and book choice repeated to you on the confirmation screen?

Lucianarchy, since you are continuing to participate in the book test I assume you have decided that my protocol is acceptable?

No. When I hit the submit button, it just reloaded the same 'test' page.

I was running Norton Internet Security 2003 (which kills pop-ups amongst other things) I just disabled it, and tried again, and it worked.

So I discovered your test is off-limits to anyone running Norton Internet Security (using the default installation options).

Presumably you don't have a problem with HTML forms or PGP pages on a daily basis. This forum uses them all the time, for instance.

I have a theory, though. I've made a small change. Try it again now.

No hits in round 24. In fact, in the last 6 rounds we have had 65 guesses and no hits at all.
