Black Panthers Show Up As Armed Security At Philly Polling Place

Well they had the berets too and a cursory glance at the "uniforms" they could very well be Black Panthers. Having said that I could walk the 20ft to the costume shop here and put together a passable outfit in 10-15min. Not to mention if this were a real effort by the Black Panthers I would think there would be many more reports of it happening.

Agreed. If the real BPs were involved, there'd be a helluva lot more going on than just two guys hanging out in front of a polling place. And it'd be pretty damned obvious to everyone there was a concerted effort at intimidating people.

This is just... hyperbole. The police did their job, and the situation is apparently resolved. Not that I expect Fox News to shut up about it though; it's just too juicy a storyline to drop. They're going to milk this thing for much more than it's worth.

My guess is we'll still be hearing all about it by the weekend. There is likely an email being dispersed across teh Internets already about this, complete with all manner of crazed claims contained therein

ETA: To be fair, I also expect to hear similar stories about supposed "voter intimidation" coming from the other side. Just wait, it's only a matter of time.

Shurely more evidence of the need for UN election scrutineers at US elections - if more were needed ;)

I do, but that video does not show:

Nor does it show:

Neither does your OP video.

I absolutely agree. Those weren't the claims I was asking Cicero to support.

Cops did escort the BP with the nightstick to leave the premises. Not arrested as was claimed. Here is FOX News Leventhol interviewing the other BP. This guy is plain loony. These two represented themselves as from a security company when they are just vigilantes.

So there were two "Black Panthers," one armed with a nightstick, at a Philly polling place posing as security. One of the BP's is haranguing Leventhal for doing his job as a reporter.

Now you responded in your initial post that this was somehow a claim about violence on McCain supporters and that you were incredulous about what the thread said it was about. The videos back up exactly what these two "BP's were doing, what one was carrying, that one was indeed escorted away as reported by onlookers, and the confrontation of "BP" with Fox reporter.

You immidietly thought this was a hoax. Then after being shown what happened at the scene, you quibble about the cops not arresting the "BP," or being shown escorting the "BP" away, or that it did not show violence towards McCain supporters, which was your own characterization of what the OP was about.

Maybe Rick Levanthol had the entire thing staged. You wouldn't put that past the evil FOX News, would you?

Please find some video of white supremacist holding clubs at polling stations today. Maybe that is why this is a news story. If these two Einsteins didn't want to send a message by standing out front of a Philly polling place in either BP or Michale Jackson paraphernalia, then why show up at all?

"BP" haranguing Fox News Leventhol:

Ah. Thank you.

One of the BP's is haranguing Leventhal for doing his job as a reporter.
Do you mean when he refused to answer the reporter's questions? That counts as haranguing? When he neither approached the reporter or followed him in any way?

.....'kay.

Now you responded in your initial post that this was somehow a claim about violence on McCain supporters and that you were incredulous about what the thread said it was about.
Actually, I said "threatening violence", which you confirmed is what you meant in post #4.

The videos back up exactly what these two "BP's were doing, what one was carrying, that one was indeed escorted way as reported by onlookers, and the confrontation of "BP" with Fox reporter.
All this is true. It isn't, however, what you were previously claiming (or spinning, as it now appears).

You immidietly thought this was a hoax.
Can you blame me? It isn't like it hasn't happened previously nor like Fox News hasn't been taken in by it before. Especially considering that your OP video provided no evidence.

Then after being shown what happened at the scene, you quibble about the cops not arresting the "BP,"
Yes, we do that a lot on this board. It is generally called "asking you to back your claims". Since your claims were false, it could now be called "debunking your claims".

or that it did not show violence towards McCain supporters, which was your own characterization of what the OP was about.
And yours:

Their mere presence can be considered threatening,

Yeah. Funny how he never presented any evidence for his claim that the GOP was sending out thugs to intimidate voters. Must be too busy or something.

Ah. Thank you.

And yours:

What claims were false? The cops showed up and escorted an armed BP, but did not arrest him? Wow! You certainly obliterated that conspriacy theory.

The remaining BP is haranguing Levanthal that he has no right to be there. How did you debunk that?

Indeed. I said the mere presence of these morons was threatening as the two video showed. You, on the other hand, claimed it was supposed to show :

"Scary black men threatening violence on white McCain supporters"
Upchurch

Any "spinning" initiated in this thread was by you.

One of the videos is by a college student. Was he part of this FOX News woo?

Don't give me "that's what we do here" crap. you have a history on the forum challenging a thread that reports a common news story and then jump up and down asking for links.

You didn't complain about the accuracy of the local Detroit FOX News affiliate story about the Halloween women not giving treats to kids whose parents support Obama.

Why is that a legitimate story, but this one is not?

 You morphed "asked to leave" into "was arrested" and you aren't spinning? Not even a little bit? Really?

The man neither approached Levanthal nor followed him once he turned away. He obviously did not want to even talk to him. Yeah, I think your video debunked the haranguing claim pretty well.

No, I was parodying the Ashley Todd incident.

One of the videos is by a college student. Was he part of this FOX News woo?
Only if he is the "Ashley Todd" of this situation.

Don't give me "that's what we do here" crap. you have a history on the forum challenging a thread that reports a common news story and then jump up and down asking for links.
Only for claims that are not represented in the report. Your claim that the man was arrested, for example. And yes, though you may not like it, that is what we do here.

You didn't complain about the accuracy of the local Detroit FOX News affiliate story about the Halloween women not giving treats to kids whose parents support Obama.
...because they actually showed video of the woman saying she would not give candy to kids who said they supported Obama. See the difference is, that claim was actually supported by the video, whereas your claim was not.

Why is that a legitimate story, but this one is not?
I didn't say it wasn't a legitimate story. In fact, I think that it is now that further evidence has been provided. What I don't think is legitimate is your exaggerated account of it.

it bears mentioning that these guys are not 'black panthers.'

they are 'new black panthers.'

some other brand of tard, i guess.

a couple of idiots at a single poll is shameful, but not unexpected. When I voted this morning, you had fools carrying campaign signs into the voting area.
Did you told them that the Ron Paul campaign was this way? :D

During the swedish 2003 referendum on the Euro, there was some polling station worker that put up a portrait of the recently assassinated Anna Lindh and lit a candle. He had to take it away, since that could tip the scales. His motives was sympathy, but rules are rules.

 You morphed "asked to leave" into "was arrested" and you aren't spinning? Not even a little bit? Really?

Exaggerated? So the inital report by FOX News about the guy being arrested later tunred out to be not true and they reported that as well. Just as FOX News reported that the women being attacked was a hoax when cops got the truth out of her.

Harangue: "a scolding or a long or intense verbal attack; diatribe."
You have magically imbued the word to mean having to "approach" and, or, "follow" the person targeted. The BP said to Leventhal:

"You are harrasing me. I don't want you recording me. The community doesn't want you recording them. Nobody here has a nightstick. I don't care about what was. I care about what is. You have me telling you you have no authorization to be here at this polling place, that's what you got."

Leave the parodies to SNL. You don't have a knack for it.

No, I wouldn't.

They don't have to, they sometimes control the registration to vote.

So your penchant for woo is on the record.

I see. Your suggestion that there is white controlled voter suppression is as damning as video of two menacing BP's staked out at a voting center on election day.

And the voting booth collapse was at free fall speed.

A polling booth fuss in NYC had some star power, and Mary Jane Watson is right on top of investigating voter apathy:

A little bit of grandstanding on the part of Robbins, perhaps?
And I hope Dunst has fun in North Dakota. Beautiful state, but chilly this time of year.
