Bin Laden Dead Truthers Mourn

So did OBL need dialysis machine treatments or not?
It's pretty much a myth. For starters, reporter Peter Bergen, who's interviewed OBL several times, says he doubts that the myth is true.
When I saw him last he was in excellent health. he was walking. He was healthy. I didn't see any evidence of kidney disease. I didn't see any evidence of dialysis.

And more info, put together by Mike of 9/11 Myths: http://www.911myths.com/html/bin_ladin_on_dialysis.html
Over the next few years, bin Laden would appear alive and well in a string of audio and video tapes. In December 2004, when Gen. Musharraf again sat down with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, he all but reversed himself.

In fact, there is a mountain of evidence that bin Laden is not on dialysis.

No medical report has been produced that shows bin Laden is on dialysis.

No reporter who has actually met bin Laden has seen the archterrorist hooked up to a dialysis machine or heard him talk about it. Robert Fisk, the only Western journalist to interview bin Laden three times, makes no mention of dialysis.

Peter Bergen led a CNN team into Afghanistan to interview bin Laden in 1997. Bin Laden appeared healthy and strong; neither the reporters nor bin Laden mentioned dialysis or kidney trouble.

Even bin Laden's longtime associates dispute the kidney ailment meme. Saudi newspaper editor Khaled Batarfi has known bin Laden for two decades, ever since the two were neighbors in the Saudi port city of Jeddah. He told the Sunday Tasmanian, an Australian newspaper, that bin Laden "does not suffer from kidney disease."

Foreign government officials who have met bin Laden also insist that he has no problems with his kidneys. Bin Laden lived in Sudan from 1991 to May 1996. I interviewed political leaders and intelligence officials there who knew him. Gutbi al-Mahdi, Sudan's former intelligence chief, told me bin Laden had no health problems during his time in Sudan. In fact, every Sudanese I spoke with denied that bin Laden had any health problems, let alone a kidney ailment requiring dialysis.

Bin Laden himself is of the same opinion. Hamid Mir, an intrepid Pakistani journalist who writes for the Pakistani daily Dawn, landed one of the only two authentic post?September 11 interviews with the world's most wanted man.

In the course of the wide-ranging interview, Mr. Mir asked bin Laden about his kidneys: "A French newspaper has claimed that you have a kidney problem and have secretly gone to Dubai for treatment last year [2000]. Is that correct?" Bin Laden responded: "My kidneys are all right. I did not go to Dubai last year. One British newspaper has published an imaginary interview with an Islamabad dateline with one of my sons in Saudi Arabia. All this is false."
More info at the link. The point here is that it's pretty much acknowledged to be a myth, but it's also one of those points that's not looked at by many people. It somehow escapes notice, and everyone just presumes it's true.

I thing the most ironic part in all of this, is that the media and the president are hailing this death as a success, but meanwhile there are reports now that all military bases are on high alert fearing terrorists attacks in retaliation of this killing. maybe it wasnt the best move afterall??

You're basically advocating the maintenance of the status quo if any change would lead to short-term upheaval, regardless of the long-term benefits. You are pitifully short-sighted.

And, really, just discard the sheep's clothing. You're not fooling anyone with this "innocent curiosity" act.

I am assuming so. He doesn't really cart the thing around with him. They're kinda cumbersome like that.....

And, as Dtugg said, it doesn't matter now, as he died of lead poisoning.

Or some other type of metal......

What happened to tear gas?

I take it you've never been near a helicopter.

Gases are ineffective in 200 mph winds. So are helicopters, the crosswinds apparently brought one of them down during the assault. Things just don't work like they do on TV you know?

What's surprising is they actually tried to take him alive. They could have leveled the place. Literally, not figuratively. Had they laid down their weapons and went peacefully he'd probably still be alive. It was his choice, or the choice of the people protecting them to try and take on a superior assault team.

I'd suggest if you want to survive being hunted by the US military to turn yourself in.

There was something about Bin Laden using couriers instead of electronic communications. I am finding it strangely coincidental that I just finished reading Thomas Pynchon's The Crying of Lot 49 ten days ago. Hmmm, maybe I'm part of some Illuminati plot....;)

Any chance we will see video of OBL cowering behind a woman moments before his death? That would really show the world what a little man he turned out to be.

The fearless off-duty cop who faced down an armed robber in a Brooklyn beauty parlor on Saturday managed to shoot the pistol right out of the crook's hands, cops said Monday... It was the first time Jones had fired her weapon in the line of duty in 20 years on the job.

Should she start training JSOC? If you don't think JSOC could hit Bin Laden's hands, how about his kidney dialysis machine?
Thank you for that perfect example of a texas sharpshooter fallacy. We can almost call that a miss and shes lucky she didnt get killed.

There are a few situations where police sharpshooters will go after a held weapon rather than take the kill shot, but all of these are extremely rare and in tightly controlled conditions.

Fast-roping into a compound at night, encountering armed and hostile opposition, and facing an unknown number of subjects with unknown weapons and possible booby traps does not qualify. The goal in this situation is to completely neutralize the threat as quickly as possible.

In the case of random weapon hits, untrained or semi-trained or hysterical shooters in close confrontations tend to shoot where they're looking, i.e. at the big scary weapon in the other guy's hand, so this sort of thing happens by accident once in a while. It happened to me all the time in surprise paintball engagements at close quarters. But this situation isn't desirable and bears no relationship to the shootout with bin Laden.

As usual, Truthers waste no time pretending to be experts in all kinds of fields, even those they know jack all about. Dunning-Kruger strikes again! [/RWVA Rifle Instructor]

I could add quite a few names to the mix of those wanted or those known to be active in terrorism but evade 'US & UK technology' in their capture.

Sheesh, there's ordinary criminals in the United States that evade the almighty US technology for ten years or longer, even without trying all that hard. Look how long Jaycie Dugard was missing. Or the Green River killer. Or any of the 200 episodes of Cold Case Files on A&E.

Or look at this story about a missing college student who had simply had a spat with her mother and moved to Kentucky. Where she had a job, a Social Security number, and all sorts of things you'd think would create a nice easy paper trail. She stayed "missing" for seven years.

Clayton Moore's "how could they possibly avoid US technology for ten years" comment betrays what really drives a lot of conspiracy believers: their inability to accept that their country is not infallible. So they find comfort in a belief that any apparent failure must be intentional (and flawlessly executed, of course).

Flawless except for the parts which fool thousands of scientists, architects, and engineers worldwide, but can be sussed out by random people with internet connections.

It's obvious OBL wasn't ever going to surrender willingly, he'd rather die for his cause as a martyr. Which is exactly how his supporters will now see him.
Using women as human shields kinda negates the "martyr" thing. As women in Libya, Tunisia, Syria, etc begin seeing themselves as full players in the political process, such actions can be negative to AQ's goals.

Ordinary cops catch criminals who are shooting back every day.
And they bring them in alive, to stand trial before a judge and jury.
Our top Special Ops team, with night vision goggles, that could hit a dime from far away, could not hit his gun hand?
I have more faith in the skills of our JSOC. They are the best of the best. They can catch a sick man with a cane.
Probably they could shoot down the barrel of Bin Laden's gun, rendering it harmless.
Bringing him to justice, means bringing him to justice, in a court of law.
That is the American way.

Yeah, that's the other half of it: the super genius/free mind/Neo fantasy view these people have of themselves.

Do you really believe anyone can hide from American technology for ten years?
Short answer: Yes, easily. Since US technology can't seem to locate the millions of illegals working right inside the US right now, I'm going to bet that someone outside the US with an understanding of US technology and methods can hide probably indefinitely. All it takes is greatly over-inflated ideas of the magic fabulousness of US technology.

"Over-inflated"? Did you see the giant space beam that dustified the WTC on 9/11? :p
