Merged Bigfoot follies

Confirmation would allow enthusiasts to shove all sorts of I told you sohhs up the collective giggy of denialists and scofftics everywhere.

Yet . . .

Patterson never returned to Bluff Creek not just because he completed his hoax but also because he had no belief that the forest there contained Bigfoots. He was pretending to believe.

A working primatologist would be of invaluable help to the NAWACers, but . . .

Some of the excellent clues are that they don't call police or game wardens when they know that they have seen a Bigfoot and that they leave the area right after they know that they have seen a Bigfoot. Also there is continual intellectual dishonesty, evasiveness and contradictory evaluation of evidence, etc.

There are signs that pretending is going on.

There are repercussions for reporting sighting that most of the folks I've spoken to don't wish to endure. It's easier to just keep their mouths shut and go on with their lives.

If you don't believe me, tell your poker buddies that you saw one and see what happens.

Nonsense, if you're adamant that you've seen something, and know for certain that you couldn't possibly be mistaken, then you tell people and you don't give a monkey's uncle what anyone thinks.

We know for certain that the world and his wife will openly report anything to the rest of the globe, from daily bowel movements to their holiday snaps.

This notion that people go about their daily lives harbouring deep dark secrets of the 'Squatch for fear of being ridiculed is hilarious. Television dictates otherwise, as does the internet.

What about all those imbecile town-hallers raising their hands on Not Never Finding Bigfoot?

Give it a shot, tell your friends and see how that works out for you.

The fake oppressed martyr card is right out of ABP's playbook for manipulative people. Are you doing parody of that, or what?

Firstly, my friends don't smoke crack, so them buying the notion that I saw a Bigfoot, in Liverpool, England, no-less, is rather out-there...

Secondly, the only thing that would cause a person to keep their story to themselves is a seed of doubt, meaning that they weren't at all convinced of what they'd seen and thus couldn't commit to relating their story.

If you're close enough to your friends then why worry what they'll think? Surely, unless you come out with these kinds of stories on a weekly basis, your friends would see the sincerity in what you were telling them, no?

We live in an age where "Bigfoot-sightings" are sadly more common than they've ever been... More people are "into" this crap than ever before, so I've yet to see any actual truth to the idea that people are ridiculed for having such a belief, or that there are any serious repercussions.

More to the point, there's now so many groups out there that support the existence of Bigfoot that the idea that people who claim to see them are alone is absurd.

I'd gladly endure some snide comments and ridicule for fame and fortune especially if I KNEW that I would not only be rich and famous but would also have the last laugh. Unless, of course, you're either not interested in being rich and famous or perhaps have some doubt...?

Is that why nobody calls the police when they have seen an exotic animal which has escaped a zoo or private captivity?

If you see a tiger in Minnesota don't call the police or game warden unless you want to endure repercussions.

Bingo.

Then learn how to use a camera!

Well, a hairy 900 pound biped will leave evidence wherever it has been in the woods, and there will be evidence of where it traveled to and from the spot where I saw it, so I would have that to confirm my sighting.

If a hairy 900 pound biped was walking around my campsite in the woods, it would never be a matter of just believing my story.

(Of particular interest to me, are bigfoot tracks showing that bigfoot changed direction. The turning of the foot to change direction, or even to turn around. Tracks which I have never seen or heard of, curiously.)

Me: "John... I don't know how to tell you this but..."

John: "Spit it out, mate. What's wrong?"

Me: "Well... Oh, I don't know, John... I can't!"

John: "Go on, you're amongst friends, what's bothering you, lad?"

Me: "Well, ok, here goes... I think I saw a Bigfoot today, John."

John: "You ******* high, mate?"

I think I'm starting to understand this repercussion business... Obviously, when you admit to such a big-boy sighting, you're leaving yourself open to intense ridicule, how dare John ever suggest that I'm on the jazz ciggies.
