If you are closing up shop and changing locations, you usually send out notices of where you are going. Did the sample donors get a notice, if not, isn't that some kind of violation in itself? I would take my results and let a real genetics lab look at it, I bet it's just some made up letters slung onto a page.

from what i have been told there are no written results. just a phone call with a verbal explanation. She indicates that a written sequence would not do the customer any good, as they do not have ther software.

so hows that for a convienient MO for fraud!
 
All just part of the Smoke And Mirrors with these people. I would not have expected anything else, in fact I would have been somewhat disappointed if they didn't change the game plan before they got caught with this DNA Hoax.
 
It would be interesting to know the numbers on how many samples were accepted/tested/paid for and by whom. :) Businesses are supposed to keep those type of records? lol.
 
I got that there were about 125 total, the vast majority submitted by the OP, and paid for by Wally Hersom, I believe.

I find that incredibly hard to believe that everyone would believe what she said with no hard copy of the results in hand. So how do you enforce an NDA if there is nothing written to protect?

If I were a donor I'ld be telling the news considering she left the area with no forwarding information. By "left" do they mean she moved out of her house too? Or did just move her business or go out of business?
 
Sykes released today that he's gotten more than enough samples and plans to start testing in the next few days, then will publish soon afterwards.

Apparently Wally Hersom is the multimillionaire benefactor of not just Melba Ketchum's Hokum, but 'footery in general. This rather scathing post on Lindsay's blog makes that link between Hersom and Ketchum:

One of the other things of interest about that is the assertion that Ketchum was in deep financial trouble back in 2008 when Hersom arrived on the scene, funding the BFRO too (see here: http://www.bfro.net/wally.asp) He's the main benefactor of the Olympic project, (see here: http://www.olympicproject.com/)
It would not be a surprise then if the TBRO and others are dipping into this deep pocket as well.

This article claims Ketchum could not make her mortgage payments back then, which led a certain un-named poster here to check the property transactions in Shelby County Texas. In both 2008 and 2012 properties of hers were taken to extinguish debts not paid, the most recent of which is the lab property. These are public documents.

It is hard to reconcile the assertion of all this money being showered (one post claims it is hundreds of thousands) on the "research", with trips to Europe by Ketchum, and properties being foreclosed upon for lack of loan payment.

It's interesting the BFRO posting above cites Tom Slick as who Wally Hersom is picking up after because Slick was pilfered by a number of scammers, the best of which was Peter Byrne. Before Byrne arrived and eclipsed others, Slick was funding very poor con artists who didn't even show up to work. Standards are very low in this arena.

It appears he was a busy entrepreneur, then after he sold his companies in retirement just groused around for a bigfoot venue and found Moneymaker. That led to him attending those ludicrous bigfoot jamborees, where he heard noises and became a believer. Ketchum has apparently been the beneficiary of his wealth and could be the reason others don't need to pay her salary - because Hersom is. Apparently he is or was paying Moneymaker's salary, so there is precedent for that.

Tom Slick never went after the real low-lifes who took his money and ran, but he also died in a plane crash. People who just sold a hundred million in stock can afford to blow a million a year without worrying about it. You can't really sue someone who is losing properties to foreclosure for fraud and expect your money back. Plus it is embarassing. So I don't expect him to accuse her of fraud.

Instead, he didn't get results with Ketchum so he either did or will stop funding her. Other DNA projects are going forward that will at least report their results so the excuses will no longer do.

I don't feel good about this - losing property, the public debacle, going into hiding essentially... It's tragic even if there's fraud at the base of it. But it is over for Dr. Ketchum at this point.

I knew the guy was kind of a sleaze, but this is really crossing the line. regardless of what we may think of her credentials, business practices or ethics, this is just wrong.

Yes, it is bizarre and yet he seems to present it as a serious post, not an April/Halloween joke.
I suspect that one of her many discharged employees/volunteers is behind this. And pardon my conspiracy theory but I also wonder whether some of the weirder Facebook posts supposedly written by Ketchum might also have come from this employee/volunteer source. We will never know, I guess.

This is just a sample of RL's overall social ineptness, there is something seriously wrong with this guy, in my opinion.

Unlike you ABP, I can't really feel sorry for someone who swindled a gullible fool out of hundres of thousands of $. TheMelba was neck deep in BF, proclaiming BF to be people and reporting witnessing frolicking family BF's. If she ends ups sleeping in a cardboard box on a street corner I won't feel the least bit sorry for her.

so obviously the jig is actually up for us skeptics, as mama ketchum is fixing to drive the stake into our collective hearts!

^^^ We all for the most part are programed to survive anyway we can, with her education and company i can see her being desperate and willing to do just about anything to survive. ( I wonder how she got into this in the first place ? )

With that said. Ya morals and self esteem don't seem to apply here and that's a shame but that's why we have Karma, one thing to take money for a service but to play along with the hoax and start a record of sightings only to sell it to others as the real deal is not good.

I was still on the fence with BF when the DNA thing came along and kinda laughed cause i knew it would be the killer of BF, so many footers were high on the fact it would show the monkey was out there, well here we are with another Hoax and another failure, time for the footers to discredit her and under the bus she goes so the game can continue.

Of course, Sapunov is a hydrometeorologist. You know, one of those guys you don't have to be to know which way the wind blows.
 
As the partisans come to realize that Ketchum has disappeared into the mist, and taken their precious specimens with her, there will undoubtedly be some anger. But they should realize that since she will never publish the data, and of course Sykes will not have duplicates of most of them. no one can prove that the Ketchum specimens were not actually "bigfoot."

Bigfootery will never change.
