My main question is this: If these were taken in November, in central Oklahoma, why do the trees have green leaves, and why is there green prairie grass?

These questions were asked on their Facebook page, and they got a little defensive:http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...93293878&type=1&ref=notif&notif_t=photo_reply

I just asked them to directly explain the green leaves instead of hand waving them away, and to either present evidence or retract the date taken as november.

bet my post gets deleted

TBRC: " We stand by the photos, simple as that. You're entitled to your opinion, of course."

So, they just choose to ignore the obvious, because it goes against what they want to believe. Typical.

Braves Fan: you're post is, so far, still there.

I replied as well (paraphrasing) so you are just gonna hand wave the evidence it wasn't taken when you said it was, yet have us believe the rest of it true too ?

The hilarity continues, with them now saying that they are very much proponents of obtaining a "type specimen".

I'm not holding my breath. I just hope they don't end up shooting some poor guy in a hoodie.....

Interesting. There is a strategy of co-opting your opponent's position, as if it was your idea in the first place. After half a century of excusing away no specimen and now it's their idea to obtain one?

idoubtit - I harp on this, but these bigfoot con artists share one thing with every nasty person on the planet, and that is no conscience. People are objects to obtain ends, not humans to have empathy for. You need to fake empathy of course, but actually FEELING it is out of the question. Were I editor of your piece I would have inserted the word "some" to make the point he alleges to make. Some creationists wish for dinosaurs to walk among us. Some are too incoherent to even inquire with them on the subject.

What sorts of people settle into dubious occupations? The tools you have to acquire are such warm, positive social skills like lying, cheating, manipulating, F-ratings on Business etc. Anyone can make a mistake and try to learn from it and be a better person. But to operate a bigfoot enterprise for years on end takes sustained committment to being a con man and lacking scruples.

So long as you understand they're the boss on their own sites, it could be fun to game them maybe. But you can't expect fair dealing.

I have a friend who is a devout footer who used to be part of the TBRC. He has told me some stories about their shady tactics. He finally left after one of their members started shooting indiscriminately into the woods, because he "thought he saw a Squatch." He said that was the last straw, so he left the group.

He's still a pretty avid Bigfoot 'Bleever though.

fixed.

This might be off topic but...

I have not seen a Bigfoot in the month of April. Just reporting in.

Observations and Site Description:

I have looked in my backyard at all times of the day and also early to late evening (when on the way to the refrigerator), and mornings. My car has been checked daily for these creatures. I have also positioned some sticky glue traps in the kitchen with no BF evidence (just a couple of mice).

Follow up and Field Notes: The Observer of these continued non sightings has driven daily this month past power line right of ways, gas line right of ways, and no railroad tracks at all. He has looked out his windows quite a bit both at home and from his automobile. His non sighting seems legitimate to me especially because there is a small hole behind the electric oven where field mice might access his kitchen .

The area of these non sightings also is adjacent to what was a former apple orchard and the observers grass needs mowed immediately !

Alfred J. Crumple, "BFRO" Research Folk.

Note: Alfred J. Crumple is a retired British Aluminium Foil Researcher and Soliciter He has been involved and participated in the Wales Bigfoot Weekend and also the Normandy Clashup. He is also the author of the book "Aluminium Foil. Why does it make those noises ? "

Heh. That's a good riff off a field investigation report from some bigfoot acronym eg Bigfoot Encounter & Ecology Research (BEER) group.

I've had a once-in 27 year occurrence to report. We had a warmer early spring and cut a number of birch down for firewood, and then the temperature dropped way below freezing. So these birch stumps have been pumping out sap that has frozen into these white waterfall-type icicles. Big ones, man - I filled a five gallon bucket up with them just breaking them off the stumps. Frozen birch sap.

So I'm reducing it. It's going to make half a pint of syrup. Pretty crazy. You have to watch it really carefully when it gets down to the end, and it really needs specialized equipment to do it professionally. But I can make some half-a** "logger's special" syrup.

While out there I heard some thumping noises. Like a loud footfall, slow at first and then running at us. But we never did see the creature.

edit: the sticky-glue traps. Good one.

That sounds like you just experienced a "class B sighting", ABP !

Knowing how protective BF is of their food sources and their curiousity there is "no doubt" one or more of the creatures was checking on you to see what you were doing to/with their birch sap harvest !

If you can find some Refrigerator sized glue traps that might work .. with all of that fur ! Even if BF managed to extricate his/herself from the trap. DNA from the fur, dermal ridge.. mid tarsal break evidence and perhaps even some skin samples would be left in the glue !

Whatever you do make sure not to let them observe you reducing the sap.. otherwise they might learn about fire !

On a personal note: I have never had birch sap syrup.. sounds like something I should try. Is it much different than maple syrup ? Interesting....

A little different taste, sharper, but sweet just the same. I got it reduced most of the way, time to pass it off to the wife - she's better at finish work. It's way sweeter already. If you taste just the raw sap, it has almost no taste.

I could tell you had been reading the reports from BFRO.

I just wondered.. I suppose most tree sap is full of sugars to an extent. Never thought of birch. Sounds good !

Yes.. I will look and see what "sightings" happen every month or so and are registered on that place here in Ohio for fun..

I dont know if you caught my post a few weeks ago about the one from the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. It was (the report) was quite entertaining to me since it is the most urbanized National Park in the United States. Of course, there is a railroad that runs the gamut and an overpopulation of whitetail deer, many trees to knock on, water sources, sewage in the river, corn farms, apples, and 4 million people nearby ? Perfect habitat for our big hairy friend...

Edit:

The Cuyahoga Valley National Park (formerly known as the Cuyahoga Valley National Recreation Area) was est. in the late 1970's.

It is basically an area from Cleveland to Akron, Ohio that follows the last 30 miles of the Cuyahoga River and its valley. So.. it is maybe three miles wide at its widest and encompassing many small towns and villages. A rail line runs the entire length and also a paved hike and bike trail follows the river. It is a great community asset to the area.

But if there was such a thing as a "Bigfoot" there a many other places that it would chose.. well unless dumpster diving was an adaptive trait ? Jsyk.. I am not registered on the BFRO.. I just find it so wacky that someone would register a sighting in this area ?

Shrike has done a lot of bigfoot population-food dynamics and I think his results show four million people as prey supports a population of just under 20,000 bigfeets on a sustained yield harvest basis.

Scofftic!

Today's trail report brings you this Bigfoot poo. They come down to the riverbottom to feed on the first grasses and sedges of the spring. You can see it in the detail from my Finnish wife's camera. By the size of this guy he is way too big to sodomize if that's what anyone was thinkin'. Check out the girth. Ain't no fricking ruffed grouse.

We were so scared we left right away

well, since you don't know what pooped it, must have been a bigfoot. send it off to a DNA lab today and maybe your kids will still be alive when the results get published.
