Moderated Bigfoot- Anybody Seen one?

I thought there were more casts than the one..I'll have a look.

Some articles say there were multiple Crew casts and some say there was only one.

The "single" Crew track doesn't have square "wooden" toes. It looks more organic, like a human foot scaled up. There is no evidence that Wallace created Alderfoot, is there?

The brown Crew cast I posted is almost identical to the Wallace Alderfoot (WAF). It may have been made with those WAF but being 9 years prior there was far less wear and the impressed shape was somewhat different. IOW, they started with pointy roundish toes and after years of use they wore down to square shape. Look at the Mullins photo where he hold two wooden feet. Note that the toes are carved to give an indentation much "deeper" than the sole. Maybe the WAFs started out with toes more like that.

I don't know if the Wallace family has any direct evidence that he did the carvings instead of Mullins.

Could you post a "Wallace print/cast" that is the least bit convincing. I think you give the guy way too much credit for some of the prints you think he created. I don't see much talent in his work and I haven't seen any Wallace print that had much attention to detail. Someone else was involved, IMO. Especially in 1930. And I still don't know why Wallace carved a double ball in his wooden feet. Do you?

In spite of being rigid, the WAFs can result in somewhat variable tracks and impressions depending on the substrate. Some of the Dahinden/Green photos show this.

I also think that some folks may have made manual improvements to WAF impressions before they poured in the plaster. Look at the cast that RP is holding here. It's a WAF with customized toes. Not necessarily the wooden feet were customized but rather the impression was fixed up to look more realistic... if we just got rid of these square toes it will look real. Poke, poke, poke... much better, now let's pour the plaster.

Why the double ball? I don't know. The salient thing to know is that the important Classic Bigfooters thought it was authentic. The gist... the moral of the story... Bigfooters believe in the absurd.

Arrows point to WAFs...

OT for prints, but I've encountered a new set of folks this week who record owl calls and then conclude that they were made by bigfoots, because they're "different" than real owl calls and everybody knows this.

If it can be shown conclusively that the owl calls are not made by real owls, then the logical hypothesis is that the calls were made by humans. We know humans exist and can mimic animal noises; bigfoot(s) not so much.

Why the double ball on the Wallace foot?

It's where the toes would go on a normal-sized foot. I guess that Wallace, using a normal foot as a guide to his first stomper, evaluated the size and decided to extend it by placing the fake toes above the row where the toes would have, should have gone. Hence the superfluous anterior ball.

I believe the MABRC director Darkwing, at one time claimed that the Bigfoots were mimicking owl cries. I have also confronted someone who thinks the Bigfoot are mimicing frog calls.

I ask: What is the evolutionary advantage for mimicking these calls?

To blend in and hide from humans? humans are so adept at finding bigfoot, that they need to mimic wildlife calls to disguise themselves?

To attract the animal they are mimicking's prey animals? No

To attract other specimens from the animal species they are mimicking?
Frogs: They would be easier to catch by listening to the frogs sounds and finding them. it would limit them to the one type of frog that they are mimicking.

Owls: Not a high density bird. I think a bigfoot would be better off trying to attract woodcock, or grouse, or turkey, or deer, or wild pig.

I heard an owl hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hooting outside my window last night.

I live near the edge of the city. Wooded hills flank us to the south and east. A large park sits catty-corner to our neighborhood, and across the street is a wide wooded area where homeless persons sometimes make camp.

Bigfoot is watching me. When it sees me posting unbeliever messages on the JREF, it makes owl sounds to show its disapproval. I'm keeping the cats inside from now on.

ETA: I think this bigfoot was sitting in the pecan tree outside my window. I looked out there, but couldn't see it. Maybe I was hallucinating not being able to see it, and it was actually right there, crouched and zapping me with infrasound in order to mix up my brain? It's really the only explanation.

I was camping a few weeks ago near a couple of juniper trees. I was in my small nylon tent, kind of dozing off, when I heard some weird bird-like noises coming from aways away, sure didn't sound like an owl. Then it was answered by another non-bird-like creature some distance from the first.

I was just laying there, thinking, man, if I believed in Bigfoot, would I be nervous about now, cause these are not sounds I've ever heard from any night bird before.

Just then, both birds flew into the trees I was near, each only a few feet from my head, and proceeded to make the weird sounds. I poked my head out of my tent and was able to make them out in the full moon, not real well, but enough to verify they were indeed owls. They flew away shortly thereafter.

Dang it, I almost had a Bigfoot sighting.

I think I see one. Where's sweaty with his crayons?

Sonny,
That reminds me of the Windex commercials where the crows mess with the homeowners.

Maybe the owls enjoy messing with the campers!:boxedin:

Todd Standing is the the consumate Bigfoot sheister. He makes the requisite crappy video of a guy in a suit, obscured, brief, and shaky and then says yeah, that's the bad footage. The good footage is in the movie I will be premiering. I invite all naysayers to come and see this. Many, many naysayers please come to my movie.

John, here is your intro to the guano that is Sylvanic...

A movie, a novel, the whole enchilada.

Standing has now released a close-up photo of Bigfoot. Click on the attached thumbnail for the full size. He is slicker than Biscardi. Check out a video interview with him at a Calgary news station. Fast talking hoaxer!

Here is one of the photos where he caught Bigfoot watching him through the bushes~as you can see it was taken in full sunlight with fantastic detail.

I think it was sleep paralysis.

Impossible! Sure, I was groggy and tense, and drifting off in front of my computer screen, but only nutballs have waking dreams. The only acceptable explanation is that a 9-by-6-foot giant ape was zapping me with infrasound from its perch in my 10-foot pecan tree, possibly hiding behind (or inside!) the 9-inch-tall bird-house. Physical size means nothing to teleporting-extradimensional-infrasounding-invisible sasquatch.

You should know that, WGBH!

How stupid does he think believers are? That's what such an obvious fake says..."Bigfoot believers are really dumb."
