Moderated Bigfoot- Anybody Seen one?

Yes.

He also claimed many posters here were NSA spooks, black helicopters used EMP pulses to erase his DVDs, he was in telepathic contact with bigfeet and extradimensional little people...

Would it really be an ad hom to cal him nuts?

you obviously did not read my posts.
i did not say i was a believer.
i said that my b-in law claims to have seen one and that i had no reason to not believe him.
perhaps you should go back and read my posts again, before you make more false claims.

Bikerdruid, welcome to the JREF. I don't think I need to tell you that arguing for Bigfoot and being a 9/11 "Truther" is a zinger combo around here. I'm not particularly interested in addressing your beliefs on either of these subjects, but I would like to ask just what it is you're talking about.

So about the 9/11 thing, are you LIHOP (let it happen on purpose) or MIHOP (made it happen on purpose)?

What does your brother-in-law claim to have seen and when and where? Also, did he report the sighting to any Bigfooter organization or any authorities?

first, thanks for the civil tone of your post.
as i mentioned elsewhere, civility seems a rarity here.

i do not claim to know the truth about 911. i think that anyone who does, is kidding themselves. i think that 40 years from now, it will be like the jfk assassination. no one will know what really happened, but they will know that 'the truth'..... wasn't.

my b-inlaw says he saw something big, brown and fast, run across the road in front of him, in his headlghts. it ran on 2 legs, and that confused the **** out of him. he told my sister and no one else. it was forty years before he would even admit it, or talk about it. he didn't want to be thought to be 'one of them'.
i have no reason to disbelieve that he saw something weird.

So, as I understand it, you have no other position regarding 9/11 other than there being a coverup. The alleged Bigfoot sighting happened forty years ago and hasn't been spoken about until recently. Where was this supposed to have taken place?

Probable misidentification of bipedal bear. As has been shown on video in another thread, three-legged bears walk almost exclusively upright on their hind legs, and from a distance or for a brief duration can easily be mistaken for a person or a human-like animal, IE "bigfoot".

Four-legged bears also do this from time to time.

I was born in Calgary, though I grew up in Victoria. Was he on the Yellowhead Highway?

Bigfooters say that Bigfoot in Canada was first noted by David Thompson in Jasper in 1811. He found large four-toed prints that were almost certainly that of a bear. Maybe your brother did see something. Maybe he saw one of those wonky bears walking around on two legs. 40 years ago would have been 1970. Maybe he saw a hoaxer.

Here's the David Thompson thing...

Here's a funny Bigfoot story from near Hinton...

Myself and a few buddies were out on a hunting trip for a few days. Just North of Hinton. On the second night of our stay I was awoke by some grunting that turned to a loud howl. Almost a scream or cry of some sort. A buddy and I went to investigate with shotgun and spotlight. Turns out it was one of out pals. He had too many beer and stumbled away from camp in the night, when the call of nature struck him. I guess my rip roaring, smokin' hot chilli was just too much, and we found him all sweaty, shaking and squating over a windfall.

And here's a report from the BFRO in the neighbourhood...

My guess would be either your brother-in-law saw a bear or other large animal and mistook it for Bigfoot or whatever, or he made the story up. There are no Bigfoots in Alberta. BTW, the famous Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film is, I think, based upon an alleged encounter with a female Bigfoot in 1955 by a man named William Roe near the town of Tete Juane Cache in BC, about 80 km from Jasper. Patterson featured the story in his book the year before the film was made. Here's the Roe story...

I think anyone who doesn't know is way overdue for their Thorazine dose, and should buzz the med nurse as soon as possible.

You're right about one thing though....40 years from now, there will still be nutjobs running around wondering what really happened on 9/11. Not sure why, the answer is staring us right in the face.....bigfoot did it.

Almost, but not quite.

The aliens that genetically engineered bigfoot did it.

Now you're cooking with gas. They even went on Larry King and explained the whole thing and still these 9/11 weirdos are still doing the Energizer Bunny. They keep going and going and going...

Picture by the very missed, what-the-heck-happened? JcR.

guys....the thread is entitled, "bigfoot- anybody seen one?"

i made the mistake of answering the question.
i have been called names, interrogated, had my sanity questioned and been generally abused for daring to say that my brother-in-law claims to have seen one and having the audacity so say that. "i have no reason to disbelieve him."

wow...way to set a trap, guys....
there are some real dinks on this board.

Well that part wasn't too bad. If you had stuck to bigfoot you would have probably received a warmer welcome along with the suggestions about other things your brother-in-law might really have seen. But the 9-11 truther stuff? That's like tearing into a hornets' nest with your face.

I see you are brand new here bikerdruid and thought I'd take a look at your posts...
You think that the US Government destroyed the World Trade Center? This would normally be off topic in a Bigfoot thread, but I think your personal credibility is on the line. Are you a weirdo who might lie about their BIL seeing a Bigfoot?

Yes.

9/11 was an inside job and Bigfoot exists = Immediate Fail on JREF.

It's not a silly question for a person who thinks the government brought down NYC skyscrapers then covered it up.

i was not the one that brought 911 into this discussion.
william parcher did that, obviously in an attempt to ridicule me.
in fact, he brought a comment i made in another thread to sidetrack this discussion. he brought it up and the pariahs jumped on me for it.
i merely responded to his comments.

like i said earlier, there seem to be a lot of dinks here.

I don't want to talk about 9/11 with bikerdruid. 9/11 conspiracy discussion is mental snot to me. Ew. Yuck. Get it away. Where's the Purell? I think I touched it. I don't want to talk about people who can't accept that terrorists really did kill thousands of people in New York in one of the most horrible and tragic events of our time. I don't want to have that image in my head of that man on camera falling from the burning tower for what seems like minutes. It makes me feel terrible. I want to talk about Bigfoot. That big lovable furry idiot. I'm one of those weirdos who spends more than one minute per year thinking about it.

Bike, I think your brother saw a bear or another big animal. Or he made it up. It happens all the time. If Bigfoot was walking across highways in Alberta, it's a safe bet that we would have a body of these creatures by now. What do you think?
