2016 was a shock to all. There's no excuse for this from the DNC in 2020. Trump will take minor scandals (or not, sexual assault is no small matter) and blow it way out of proportion. Just like he did with Hillary.

I think they could do well if they just keep Biden from going off on gaffe tangents and looking like he's having a senior moment.

He needs to be better prepared for any and all interviews. He screwed one up last week. Makes me nervous.

He doesn't have to harp on Trump directly except to show how badly Trump has handled this incredibly serious crisis. And Biden needs to show leadership, forget what's happened, he needs to show what he's going to do to clean the mess up.

C’mon. You could put a literal turd up against Trump and the turd should win every time, right? I mean, we haven’t even had any shrinks come out against Biden. Why you nervous?

I'm not going to post the link, I don't want to spread it. He fumbled. And if you think the Trump campaign isn't a formidable foe, you aren't paying attention.


Moving on. If the DNC is smart, which they have a poor history of being, there's so much material. For example, showing the PM of Nova Scotia talking about Trump stealing face masks when they welcomed US citizens into their homes after 911. These are white people, not brown people. Trump's cult followers have little to nothing against Canada. That incident makes Trump look like a real chump. Play that **** up.
 
We've seen some of what Biden's strategy is so far. Trump put out an ad saying Biden wasn't xenophobic enough about China, and Biden responded with "I'm plenty xenophobic about China, you're the one who's not xenophobic enough about China!".

It's so brilliant in so many ways I don't even know which aspect of it is the most piercing: the resemblance to an argument between 4-year-olds, the acceptance of an entirely defensive & reactive role, or the positioning so far to the right he's trying to attack trump from the right and tell Trump he has to move further right to where Biden is so they can keep trying to out-right each other.

Personally, I’m nervous because people are dying by the thousands from a crisis made worse by the incompetence of Trump and his administration, and I don’t think this country can survive another four years with a hateful idiot running things.

Why aren’t you nervous?

Add to that the far left/progressives gleefully joining with the 40% that will vote Trump no matter what to attack Biden, and we're too close for me to be comfortable either.

I don't see any lefty/progressives seriously considering voting for Trump. Some are weighing whether harm reduction is a valid reason to support Biden, who is openly dismissive of their policy goals, but none are suggesting they should join the Republicans.

Neither do I, unless Joe Rogan counts but I don't really see him as the typical lefty/progressive.

If the election were run today, I think Trump wins by a hair. But it's way too early to call. So much can and will happen between now and November in this crazy world.

I can't imagine too many liberals going out to vote for Trump. The problem, as it was in 2016, will be that people who aren't thrilled by the Democratic candidate will just stay home. That will be a particular problem if the Dems, as they did in 2016, presume that they have the election locked up. Biden must fight as the underdog every single day: "Lincoln's not on the ballot! It's me or Trump! And if you don't vote for me, you get Trump!"

Based off of this poll,
I estimate 0.15 × 0.12/0.2 = 0.09, or 9%, of Bernie bros would end up voting for Trump. Being swing states are a matter of tiny fractions, that could be significant.

For all his many faults, it's hard to imagine Biden repeating some of the more egregious errors of the HRC campaign when it comes to not prioritizing swing states.

Are these people lefties/progressives? They don't check you for a communist party card before they let you support Bernie in the primary.

Were these people that ever would have been up for grabs for any Dem other than Bernie? I don't really understand why Bernie poaching votes from Trump country is seen as some great moral flaw. If the Joe Rogan CHUDs saw something in Bernie that made them willing to dump their toxic politics, that's a good thing.

There were numerous reports that both Biden and Hillary's hubby warned her that she was in trouble, and she preferred to believe her campaign staff.
