Cont: Biden for President? Pt 2

Putin actually doesn't want "Trump in", he and Lavrov, the congenial foreign minister, have been claiming the same all over again, and there is no reason to doubt their words: They understand that "the president" doesn't call the shots in the US and they will have to deal with what "the system" wants, which doesn't differ much if Orange Man or Creepy Joe is playing. This is literally what they are saying, look it up.

But for your information, something VV said just days ago at the annual Valdai forum:

Is that something you expect either Donald or Joe to utter?

He was verbose at dodging. So what? And like Trump you cannot trust Putin to be truthful.

Are you really unaware that Putin said he wanted Trump to win? :jaw-dropp https://www.businessinsider.com/putin-wanted-trump-to-win-2016-election-2018-7

Don't worry, I don't expect you to admit you were wrong.

A direct quote, not this junk:

Business Insider said:
"Did you want President Trump to win the election and did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?" a reporter asked at the joint press conference Putin and Trump held after their one-on-one meeting in Helsinki, Finland.

Speaking through a translator, Putin answered, "Yes I did. Yes I did. Because he talked about bringing the US-Russia relationship back to normal."

Somewhat off topic apparently, some news out of the Biden camp.

Texas Democrats ( Beto o'Rourke , Julian Castro) were unhappy with the attention and $ the Biden campaign is giving Texas. Biden planned to spend more than 6m in October in the state, but that was scaled back.
(Down-balllot is important in Texas, with Cornyn vulnerable and Democrats hoping to take the Texas House.)

Jill Biden visited Texas earlier this month, and now the campaign announces Kamala Harris will visit the state on Friday.
But no Joe for now.

I can't blame them for going all in on texas. Texas is looking like an unexpected surprise, but the Biden team should be focusing on ensuring a win, not running up the score with texas.

How do you say "Putin throws Trump under the bus" in Russian?

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Sunday that he saw nothing criminal in Hunter Biden's past business ties with Ukraine or Russia.

To be fair though Texas ensures a win better than any individual swing state. And it’s not unrealistic to take it.

Hmmm...apparently, the election of Joe Biden depends on Russian cheese. 2020 just keeps getting stranger.

I just felt a breeze

And riesling!

Autocorrect tried to make that "resting." Well, some of us should take a rest, seems to me.

As of now, Biden is at 47.5% in Texas in the 538 poll average.

Trump is at .... 47.5% too.

Worth some Biden effort.

Russia has the 4th highest number of admitted Covid cases plus an amazingly suspiciously higher number of pneumonia deaths this year (pneumonia is a complication of Covid for those who only get their news from dishonest Russia propaganda outlets), Putin claims that the pandemic is "playing into his hands," and you are impressed by that?

Damn I hope I never combine heavy drinking and lack of sleep so much that I say something like that.

OCTOBER SURPRISE!

Putin rejects Donald Trump's criticism of Biden family business

This happens in almost every election. Money becomes precious and bets need to be placed. Texas has always felt like a longshot but polls do make it look worth investing in. But you don't want to lose Pennsylvania, Michigan or Wisconsin because you thought Texas was in play when it wasn't.

I vacillate between wanting Biden to run the table and wanting Biden to just cement the win. I'd love a win in TX and GA, but despite the neck and neck polls I don't feel in my gut that they're actually in play yet.

The ridiculously large amount of cash the Biden campaign has allows them to multitask.

Absolutely agree that the bulk of the effort should go to cement the win.
But Texas, Georgia, and maybe Iowa (Senate race) deserve some $ too.

That’s true. Biden has a pretty massive cash advantage at this point and forcing trump to spend in TX is also advantageous though.

That makes sense too. And there's the rub. The arguments for and against all make sense. And FYI, they are spending all that cash.

For reference comparison to 2016, Hillary at this point in her campaign hadn't stepped foot in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, or Michigan or ran a single campaign ad in them. She would never set foot in them and only run some limited market campaign ads starting about a week out. Biden hasn't made that mistake.

Throwing a few bucks at Texas, to force the Republicans to throw their own resources at it to keep it if nothing else even if turning it blue remains a pipe a dream, is worth considering I would say.
