Being a racist while having a soft skull

It's weird that Dunkin is trying to survive as a coffee shop while Krispy Kreme has cornered the actual donut market.

We should skip the gulag phase and go straight to lining people up on a wall and shooting them. Saves us the cost of having to build a bunch of prison barracks out in rural Maine.

Dude, seriously. The only appropriate reaction here is 'ok, when the good guys are turning into cowardly thugs, things are getting out of control'. No 'but seeing some old guy get killed really does it for me' or anything else up that alley.

As shocking as I'm sure this is North Dakota has neither one of those anywhere in the state. The closest one to North Dakota (anywhere) is about 3 hours away, near Minneapolis.

You pegged me. I have a potent animus towards racist people. If that's a character flaw, guilty as charged.

I'm not necessarily justifying the actions of the person that ended this man's whole existence, but I am pleased to see bad things happening to racists. It would have been better had he slipped on a banana peel or got hit by lightning because then there would be no downside to the death, but we have to take these things as they are, not as we want them to be.

The world would objectively be a better place if overt racists were afraid to out themselves like this. One punch at a time to a better tomorrow ;)

I don't know if it makes any difference, but what he said was,

'Why are you being so niggardly with the sauce?'

When he was asked to repeat what he had just said he did so, just as he was asked to do.

(Actually I don't know what he said, nor does it appear anyone else does, so we can't really judge the provocation or racism of what was said.)

Well, as in all stand your ground scenarios, I suppose we'll just have the accept the word of the only surviving combatant.

There is no absolutely no indication in the article linked by Plague311 that either one of those things is true. If he was either trespassing or being threatening, it isn't mentioned in that article, nor in any other article I have read on the incident.
I'm pretty sure once you tell someone to leave your establishment and they don't go, they are then trespassing.

Well, maybe the accused can mount a self defense claim. Good luck with that.

As for trespassing, I don't think you will find many lawyers who accept your assessment of this incident as trespassing.
Re the first paragraph, there is a video.

Re the second, that's not correct.

However, it would be a stretch to claim one was trying to evict a trespasser. But that might fly in FL.

It's too bad though. Having the police kick the old guy out would have probably been satisfying. One might be able to get away with fearing the cops would shoot the black guy first, ask questions later.

That was serious.

Nah, i'm mostly just messing around.

I find it very funny that a racist literally got killed over a dispute involving what was likely less than $10 of cafe food. Imagine making it through 77 years of life and getting snuffed out because you absolutely could not resist the urge to be racist to some uppity black cashier. Unreal lack of survival instincts, truly impressive.

No.

He got snuffed out because the cashier couldn't resist the urge to repay words with physical violence.

As abhorrent as the victim may be, his death was not his fault.

This is not the first time members of this forum have expressed support or tacit approval for political violence. The trend is not reassuring.

For example:

You pegged me. I have a potent animus towards racist people. If that's a character flaw, guilty as charged.

Again, I would likewise be happy if something truly accidental had killed this POS. Had he got hit by a bus I would likewise be gloating, but I would not consider myself an advocate of traffic accidents.

Sometimes bad things happen to bad people and you just have to cherish the little gifts.

I'm touched you single me out on advocating violence, but that's being a bit stingy towards other members. There was a long running thread debating the merits of punching nazis.

A comment with regards to the trespassing. I'd assume it's a legal grey area.

This wasn't just a Dunkin Donuts building. It was a gas station with a Dunkin Donuts counter\drive-thru. Just because Dunkin asked him to leave does not mean he couldn't be on the premises, just that they wouldn't be serving him. At this point, there's nothing to at all to say the older man was trespassing. Read the article, it states the setup in the article I linked.

You seriously expect people in this forum to read the article and reach a conclusion via facts and logic rather than one based on what they make up because of their ideology? Good luck with that.
