Barrack Obama, liar.

I think it's important to differentiate between "lies" and "unfulfilled promises" and "things I wanted to do but which proved to be politically impossible"and so forth.
Obama wanted to close Gitmo....But the screaming from the Republicans over the thought of moving any of the prisoners to "American soil" was both hysterical and deafening.
So you're saying he has no backbone?

;)

Our system is based on separation of powers, the whole idea being to make it politically impossible for any one individual, or branch of government, to wield absolute power in seeking its goals. Systems relying entirely on the amount of "backbone" possessed by a single individual are known as "dictatorships".

That snippet comes from Obama's address to a joint session of Congress, February 24 2009.

Correct. It's not the only time he's made that promise, though. He made it many, many times.

Obama did not say that taxes would never increase on people earning less than $250,000. What he said was that ending specific tax cuts would not have that effect.

One might argue that's true about that one particular instance. But it's not true in general. He made a big deal during his 2008 campaign about how nobody earning below $250,000 would see any tax increases. That promise was NOT specific to one piece of legislation.

“I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan, no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”

Obama has not kept this promise.

"If you like your doctor, you'll be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what."

He did not use "read my lips" in front of that so it does not count. :D

So far, the only examples I have seen of people "losing" anything is people not being able to keep rip-off plans which provided them next to no coverage.

"Sure my plan sucks but it's cheap!" :o

You haven't looked very hard.

“If you had or have one of these plans before the Affordable Care Act came into law, and you really like that plan, what we said was, you could keep it… if it hasn’t changed since the law’s passed.”

How positively meta. Not only did Obama lie, but now he's lying about his lie. And it's a lie for two reasons: first, because that caveat was never, ever included in his promise (until now), and second, because he made that promise after the law was passed.

so the insurance companies cancel people's plans because they're crap plans that don't meet the new requirements, and this is Obama's fault? Why don't the insurance companies just make the plans comply with the law?

"Your plan used to have a $10,000 deductible, now the deductible is $1,000. We only paid for two prescriptions a year, now we pay for all of them with a small detectable."

It had to be that Obama lied and not that the insurance companies are dicks giving a big fat middle finger to the ACA and their customers.

Whining that you can't keep your crap plan is like bitching that because the city installed new street lights you don't get mugged every week.

Too bad that's not the only thing that's happened. Here's a couple who had a good plan, and now they have to choose between significantly crappier plans.

They now have to pay more, and they get less for it.

God hasnt this chestnut rotted by now!
First we have to repeat again, because the right wing shills here keep ignoring the FACT that "obama care" is a 100% republican free market solution that was conceived, designed and pushed for by the right, until OBama caved and gave the right EVERYTHING they wanted.
The right wing explicitly built in rules that would not allow price controls, so that aca could be a giant gift to the insurance companies.

So when poster like above whine and pretend they are so concerned about the cost going up we have to call bull flop!

When they complain about this we have to call them on it because there is one one of two choices

1). They support fraud and think that its a good idea to allow companies to sell products that do not do what they claim. Or live up to their obligations

2). They are all of a sudden against profits and the free market! Because all of a sudden horror or horrors. Corporations are changing their pricing on products people want or must have.

I pointed out in another thread how all of a sudden for some "skeptics" repeating anecdotes is a valid argumentative technique rather then a critical analysis of the entire system.

That may be true but in this case a critical analysis of the entire system is not needed either. The question in this thread is not whether or not ACA is good but was the president lying.
