Bachmann fails geography

Who cares where it happened? The important thing is we won the battle of Concord and freed the slaves from the French.

Just like when Obama couldn't remember how many states were in the Union.

Obama & Bachmann: two idiots!

Obama said a word wrong, saying "Fifty seven" instead of "Fifty sovereign". A misspoken word is not on the same level as not knowing where the most important battle of the Revolutionary war was fought. Not even close.

Not even remotely similar. Obama made a slip of the tongue. Bachmann really thought the battles of Lexington and Concord took place in New Hampshire.

I hate Bachmann and her band of useless idiots.

But, I have to admit, I too assumed that the Battle of Concord took place in New Hampshire. Its the more well-known Concord, as opposed to the one in Mass.

Plus, I am a New Yawkah, and we are famous for a lack of knowledge of New England history and geography.

:)

I was going to post earlier today that I was wondering how soon it would take someone to make this moronic false equivalency. I changed my mind when I realized it would probably keep someone from doing it.

Congrats and thanks!

Furthermore, Obama was speaking off the cuff, trying to recall how many states he had visited, thinking out loud as it were.

Bachmann was using a prepared speech, one she had already used and failed to correct.

How did Bachmann miss Concord, California?
Why do people on both sides of the political specturm insist on defending the idiots on their side of the specturm rather then just renounce them.

Ah, so when he said "fifty seven states" he really meant "fifty sovereign states." I see. So Obama doesn't think we have fifty nine states, he thinks we have 52.

Yup, still an idiot just like Michelle Bachmann.

Yeah. Tricky, no offense, but that's a heluva stretch. Obama misspoke, simple as that. It happens.

In this case, Bachmann made a mistake; one that a sizeable chunk of the local population would probably make, as well. Hell, I would.

The problem is that this is not the first time Bachmann has screwed up history. Occasionally flubbing history is one thing in and of itself, but she's the darling of the Tea Party--a movement that considers itself to be the political tradition of early American history.

In short: Screwing up history while claiming to represent it makes her look kinda stupid.

Anyone who's hard over about waving flags in everyone's face and pretending to be a strict Originalist should bloody well know where the Battle of Concord took place...

... but it's Bachmann, what do you expect?

I don't know where Tricky gets this "fifty sovereign states" idea. If you listen to the clip, he's talking about the number of states he visited during the campaign. He clearly meant to say "forty-seven states."

I'm a midwesterner, and I knew it was in Massachusetts. But even if you didn't know, wouldn't you want to check it out before delivering a speech to people in New Hampshire?

Also, you're not a Congressperson--one of very few people that have a lot of power in our country.

I had a disturbing thought. Since she's in New Hampshire, it seems she might be considering a presidential run. That isn't disturbing to me. She'll never get elected President. The American people aren't that crazy. The Republican Party isn't even crazy enough to nominate her.

But, and here's the disturbing part, Vice President? Do you think she might be running for VP?

I doubt it, but stranger things have happened.
