You're misunderstanding what I said. I added that even his laugh sounds angry and bitter ... I never said he was angry and bitter "because of his laugh". No, the bitter laugh just seems like the icing on the cake that is the rest of his aggressive gestures and postures.

I already stated I was biased (please reread my post). One can be biased and still observe facts. That was the point I was making. I fortified my observation by mentioning his already established reputation for having a bad temper.

I think he had to start saying that "say it out loud" stuff. When Obama first said that he would go into Pakistan given a legit target McCain and the rest of the Repubs soundly criticized him for it. Then, about a month later, Bush did pretty much exactly what Obama had said.

So McCain, in his never ending quest to reframe things to his advantage (not a criticism in and of itself, they all do it, he has just been pathetically obious at it lately) had to change to; I didnt mean you dont do it, I mean you dont talk about it first.

Which is a valid point if you are talking about it right beforehand like Geraldo giving troop info in Iraq on TV or a similar but more tragic ending mess I remember faintly from the Falklands. Not so much a valid point when you are talking about it in a theoretical vein when you arent een in office.

Might of been, once. Somtime during the last eight years they swapped him out for Bizarro though.

Whiplash, I've seen similiar complaints in various threads several times now. People take pot-shots at Palin because she makes it so easy. However, I felt that it was pretty despicable and shameful when the McCain campaign began circulating rumors about Obama being Muslim, and a secret Al Queda operative. I thought it was disqusting when they circulated video claiming that Obama told a 4th grader that "America sucks!" when what he said, in response to her question about why he chose to run, is "I don't feel that America is what it used to be, or what it could be again." And I feel that it was a VERY low blow when various Republican spokesmen kept referring to Obama as "Osama."

You made biased claims, then asked that you not be attacked for such biased claims, because you claim McCain has a history of problematic anger, for which you presented no evidence.

I watched this again (just for giggles) and kept my eye on McCain. His facial expressions and body language are quite amusing, as well as the sly looks he delivers to the camera. And when he says "I'll let her speak for herself" I almost sprayed soda out my nose.

Not quite the same thing, but your refusal to denouce what is an obviously sexist comment about Palin apparently getting as far as she has due to her exemplary fellatio skills shows that the color on that brush matches your outfit perfectly.

First of all, I'm not a Democrat, I'm an independant. The last time I registered for a party, it was the Republican party. Second of all, it was a stinking joke which I first heard from Willie Nelson. Now you can get all upset if you like, but it's not like I was a candidate and I called a reporter a "major league a**h*le". Neither does it come close to some of the things I've heard said about Hillary Clinton. It was a silly, but naughty, pun on the word "succubus".

Seems some folks here are getting a little defensive. Maybe they ought to see a psychologist.

Once again for your edification: I have a bias toward Obama, as aforementioned, but I also stated a fact: McCain has a reputation for having an anger problem. That is common knowledge. If you truly aren't aware of this common knowledge, I'll provide links. First: Do you honestly have no awareness of his reputation for having a hair trigger temper?

Tricky, I have put in a few jabs about Palin's moose-dressing and stuff, but even though we are all adults, some of this stuff get's pretty lewd, and childish.

If Todd Palin, or Sarah Palin's dad, had been nominated, we would probably all laugh at moose comments and stuff. But we (probably) wouldn't crack jokes about their oral sex skills, which makes it a very sexist remark as well.

If I have offended anyone here, I deeply apologize. I truly intended it as a simple pun and a racy joke. I am heartened to learn that so many of you take sexism so seriously. I wish there had been more like you around when the Equal Rights Amendment was in the hands of the voters.

My offense was greater than what I have offered for similar comments I have seen, so sorry if I pounded on you verbally in special.

I think sometimes it is easier to say things on the forum than around the water cooler at work, for example.

And I have seen any number of comments before (from both sides, I think), but I never squawked about it...sometimes one particular comment rankles feather's more than others.

And hey, Palin's acting like a goofball, and she is certainly fair game, but when the attacks get too personal, I think that opponents loose their audience.

Regarding women in general:

I think that the Republican party needs more women in important positions, and so when a Republican woman aspiring to high office is attacked in lewd ways, as opposed to her position on issues, it smarts a bit.

We have active female legislators from Washington State, but they are Democrats. I don't agree with their politics, but I appreciate that they get it there and try to get things done.
 
I've ragged others about this, chipmunk, so it is only fair I rag on you. It is normal for an OP that contains a link to comment on the link, express an opinion or state what the point of the OP/thread/link is. I think you should engage in such a practice.

Yes, the thread has taken off with some good comments, but the ends do not justify the means.

Given that McCain seems to translate politics into personal conflict, I think this does shed some light on McCain's anger. But it's eight years ago.
