If that didn't make any sense to you, don't worry, that just means you're still sane.
Thanks!

Vale Peter Jones
Crowded House drummer Peter Jones has died of brain cancer, reports say.
The drummer succumbed to a battle with brain cancer on Friday, the Herald Sun reported.
We are in mourning today for the death of Peter Jones. We remember him as a warm hearted, funny and talented man, who was a valuable member of Crowded House. He played with style and spirit. We salute him and send our love and best thoughts to his family and friends.

And especially don't miss the transit itself. Unless you're an immortal Pharaoh you prolly won't be here for the next one in 2117.
Well all Australians should have an affinity for this event - It was Cook's 1769 expedition to Tahiti to measure the transit that lead to his discoveries of the Australian East coast.
Unfortunately the black drop effect seen during such transits pretty much invalidated any value Cook's or other observations
I think the Admiralty was pretty happy, nonetheless. The Venus thing was largely a cover for Cook's real (secret) mission to search for Terra Australis Incognita anyway, and that turned out rather splendidly.
He said if another club president had said similar things about Collingwood, McGuire would have "gone stroppo".
Has anyone heard the word "stroppo" before? It's a new one to me and seems to be a portmanteau of "stroppy" and "troppo." Either that or sloppy work at the Age.
I found it in a quote of Patrick Smith:

Yeah I agree with your summation, but it is a direct quote so maybe the Carlton person saying it...simply slipped up
Yes, that is certainly another strong option. Though "going stroppo" would well describe Eddies reaction to the scenario.
I love Australia, particularly Cairns.
