August Stundie Nominations

*Quantum mechanics stuff flies over Travis' head*

Q "What the hell was that?"

A "Bizzaro Travis spontaneously generating then disintegrating."

I'm telling you RIGHT NOW that they don't BUILD structures to resist fire, they DESIGN buildings to resist fire. You're 100% incorrect! GOOD DAY SIR!!!!

You can yell and scream and bold all the font you want, but Beachnut did not say designed against collapse, or designed to fall in such and such a way. He said "built" to fall in this way. He's saying it was built to fall in a particular way.

This will never win. It doesn't have the stundiliousness to bring home the prize. Besides if anyone were to check up on the context of my comments, they'll find that Beachnut's assertion that the WTC towers were built to collapse in a specified way the real winner of that illustrious exchange. Not likely since you guys don't like to pick on your own.

As you are aware the context is there for everybody to see. Of course you also tried to subtley (and unsuccessfully) to change your argument. You're free to clarify what you meant within the thread in question, I did ask about it of course you might have forgotten about it in the barrage of responses that followed it.

That's when you step up to the plate and nominate it yourself. There's nothing holding you back, and I implore you to nominate me any time I post a response which you think is so stundilicious it deserves to be nominated for posterity. I nominated myself once, but unfortunately I didn't make it to the finals :(

By Len Hart:
Hitler invaded Poland for the coal.

Hitler was STUPID! Rommel was already in South Africa. Rommel MIGHT HAVE SEIZED EVERY OIL FIELD IN THE MIDDLE EAST. End of war! End of freedom anywhere in the world.

boom

Steve Austin, at the BBC comments section, describing the quiet explosive detonations that brought down the World Trade Center:

carlito you obviously watch too much "HOLLYWOOD", real explosions do not sound like they do in the movies, in the movies they are "hollywoodized" for effect.

that obviously from somone who doesn't realize how much Hollywood has to turn them down. Last explosion I heard was simply a tire blow out on a bus. Literally thought a bomb had gone off. I saw people hit the deck.

Proof positive that high schools are failing to make basic physics understood.

For your consideration from that hotbed of 9/11 knowledge aka ATS

Nope that cant be right because after the first sound you can still hear the jet flying. Also if it was a blast-wave wouldn't it have to travel down the building first then through the ground. So like Advisor said the delay is very close. I bet traveling down the building first wold negate that delay.

Who knows?

re: "If the OCT is allowed to stand unchallenged then human 'civilisation' is set-back by almost 400 years."
Can you ask him to expound on his "reasoning" for that? Sometimes it's impossible to fathom how these people arrive at such bizarre conclusions, lol.

By request, I asked and received this response, in full:

I was referring to the trial of Gallileo. 1633-ish.
