As I've pointed out above, this is why atheists should be particularly alarmed. Not because of what the Chinese government is doing or not doing, but simply trying to use whatever lever he thinks is available in order to smear his true targets: atheists and other minorities in the United States, just as has been done by his kind for the past sixty or more years.

The treatment of Tibet is awful, long term extinguishing of Tibetan culture and overwhelming the population with Han Chinese. This has been the precedent for the other areas with 'non-Chinese' cultures and peoples.

E.g. the (Christian) colonial powers, irreversibly destroyed the Native American culture and that of the Australian Aborigine, and the Aztecs and Incas of Latin America and so many more. It’s not about atheism vs religion but about greed and domination.

Yeah, apparently atheophobia is a real thing and is being expressed in nearly every post by the OP. It became apparent to me back in the day when TBD constantly conflated "anti-theist" with "a-theist" even after the conflation had been pointed out.

With this thread, he gets to point to a happenstance that the Chinese government is atheist only in order to demonize atheists everywhere such as in the United States where they, as a group, are a minority with no real power or influence in society. This is done only in order to suppress atheists and people who support secular and humanist values in the US and to justify potential use of force against those people.

Heck, force has been used against atheists in the US for decades already and only relatively recently have they been making any headway in social influence, hence the "need" for this thread.
