It's just a rumour as far as I'm concerned, but there was reference on the 'pit to a poster going by the name ceesays, assumed to be the ceepolk, complaining about the demographics of the internet in general.

Ceepolk is still nline, I just checked her blog ceeainthereforthat and she's re blogging, or whatever they do over there on tumblr and her twitter account is still active. Twitter is where she references talking only to black women for the past while.

I also caught wind of speculation that Flewellen had flounced as well.


Wow..that was some post by Gaius. I mean I'm used to SJWs detailing their psychical symptoms when they read things that are "problematic" but that was completely over the top. Looks like he hates children. I wonder how "ethical" he'll be when grandma passes on and the will is read. Would he take any "hate money" that may come his way ?

Speaking of money...that Skepticon fundraiser appears dead in the water and when we compare it to Shermer's defense fund it gets even funnier. At the rate the plussers are going, they're not going to have much of a zerg rush contingent there.

Yea, guilt could have a lot to do with it but given the average age of these plussers and the fact that most of them appear to have been raised in religious households, I figure SJ is just another stop on the quest for a "better" morality.

I was wondering why she didn't chime in on The Calgary Mayor is Awesome thread. I'm sure she'd have some anecdote about him talking to her chest or sumfin'.

Right now Ellie is griping about the A/C unit being on the fritz and flooding the basement. I thought she lived down there, but apparently she has a bedroom upstairs because she's complaining about not wanting to have to move the stuff from the basement upstairs due to the A/C leak. How can she go on under such conditions?!?!

Hey, out of the forges of moderate discomfort grown the mighty mediocre artistes of the movement. If NoGodsNoMasters didn't suffer through the inconvenience of having to shop on line, we should be possibly be as mediocre at doing beadwork as she is? If Kassiane hadn't once heard someone say something ableist on a teevee show, would she be able to crap out those turdy little crochet thingies? I think not.

On another thread from a couple months ago that I just came across, Gaius is complaining about his grandmother being a racist. (90+ yo woman, so not surprising that she's got some racist tendencies.) He apparently has fond memories of her from childhood, and visited wherever she lives regularly. But she made some ridiculous statement that there should be a race war and all white people should kill all the black people. Assuming she actually said that, okay, obviously bad. But here's his response:



So his grandmother makes an ugly, racist comment essentially wishing for something that's never going to happen, and his response is: I'd rather you strangle a real, live child than say something about wishing for a genocide. I just...don't...yikes.

I suppose he should be content that she wasn't actually into strangling children when she bounced him on her knee when he was a tot, eh? I saw that thread, but it's just so typical of the posturing these children do, that it had faded into memory. They're peopled by activist wannabes, now. Other than the chuckle factor you can't take any of their soap-box routines seriously.

ive never heard silverman apart from the o'reilly "tide comes in.." comedy. imo he doesnt come across very well in this interview. he is ranting and swearing without addressing any points or even explaining his own.
 
So back to treatment of my OCD.... I noted an abnormally high number of Inner Circle posters on line when I checked them overnight yesterday. It happened to be a few minutes before 7 am here, so that's the end of the UT day and they stamp posts UT time. I wasn't sure, but it appeared that there were no public posts while the Special Bunnies were on line, but the total would go up.... Same as my previous conclusion: They are discussing "things" in private.

There must be something to the huff reports? They're in a huddle trying to figure out what to do/say about Cee? Staging a palace coup and trying to throw out Hyperdeath? Working out a campaign to recruit PsOC?

On another level, they're just killing themselves as a focal point for activism/atheism/social justice. Half of those public posts are in humor/community type threads. How are they going to attract anyone with a social conscience to read playlists or updates on Avenel's culinary career? And who's going to join a forum where 65% of the action is closed to you until some unknown Kangaroo Court decides you should be allowed into the inner circle?

Jeez, I have to agree. I had to stop listening to that Silverman really comes off badly, extremely condescending. And completely blind to the fact that his side is guilty of the "****" to, and probably more-so then Vacula is.

Unless they've changed this they used to say, repeatedly, that they're not the "movement", they're just a "safe space".

Frankly, I hope she doesn't stick to it, too. Her insanity is too much fun to watch. Seriously, who flounces off the whole net because of the racial makeup? How do you even know what the race of most people you're dealing with is? Do you give them a test? Is she going to flounce off to Mars next because there are too many white people on earth?

I'm sure the demographics in her own little privileged community of educated North Americans and Europeans is heavily weighted towards Caucs, but so are the populations of those areas. But the internet as a whole? Not so much. Maybe Cee doesn't speak or write Chinese or Arabic? How could she possibly speak for all those people she can't speak to?

Wouldn't a real crusader for social justice just leap at the chance to reach a billion brown and yellow people? That's the total internet users in China, India, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Egypt, Mexico... In fact, in the top 15 countries by number of internet users, there are only a small handful of demographically white countries. USA #2, Russia, Germany (6 & 7), UK #9, France #10. The other 10 countries are all Asian or "brown" (Egypt, Brazil, Mexico). Even if you throw out Mexico and Brazil you still get > 1.0 billion among the others and that compares to less than 500 million in USA/Russia/Germany/UK/France.

She could move to Africa so that she's surrounded by brown people and doesn't have to deal with white people any more. Of course, then she couldn't be a victimised minority, and nor could she enjoy the privilege of living in a first-world country. I'm guessing she won't.

I just wanted Silverman to stop,take a deep breath, chill and define what he means by "the ****". Instead he just ranted and talked over the other guy.

I didn't know much about Silverman or american atheists before. Think I'll steer clear. It is very sad.

I spent two years working for the atheist movement (or to borrow Ashley Paramore‘s term, Big Atheism). I saw a lot of things that made me disappointed in a movement that claims it is dedicated to truth and critical inquiry. I made a lot of excuses for supporting things that I ordinarily wouldn’t have, claiming it all was for the greater good– for the movement, but also for the world.

No substantiation for this vague claim. Being a vegan, was "Sarah" disappointed that meat was served at some Big Atheism functions? Declaring herself a feminist, was she upset that MRA voices were not shouted down? We can only guess.

Dawkins has the right to refuse to participate at an event that showcases his sworn enemy, Rebecca Watson.

In the universe of atheism, Dawkins is a huge, huge figure. Maybe the hugest. Rebecca is tiny. Millions of atheists around the world have never heard of her. So, yeah, they are going to "placate" Dawkins, if they want the largest number of people to show up.

ETA: From the article: "Is this indicative of a mindset that some people’s opinions are more important than others?". Ummmm.....yes. Welcome to the real world. One of the great things about skepticism (even though this is about atheism) is that we don't buy into the PC nonsense that all opinions are equally valid.

And even if the reported exchange was accurate how is he "blacklisting" by simply stating he won't be there if she's speaking? He's supposed to "suck it up" because...SAWCASMnt patriarchy?

Love the implication that was clearly implied rather than claimed that it was a MRA anti-feminist plot rather than a compounded lack of apparently unclear rules and a lack of reading the rules for selling things at their event...rather than, more likely, a huckster or two that paid for their spaces complaining about the rules, that I expect they understand well, being violated rather than some "agent" or "SP" or "non-person" rules-lawyering to oppress them.

Actually A+ crowd believes that some people's opinions are more important than others.

Moderators = aristocrats
Long term posters = courtesans
Newbies = peasants

Back to A+ forums, FreeHugs1, a new member, has made the mortal sin of questioning "check your privilege", which quickly sent him to the dungeon for one week. He did not last one day. Setar being the High Executioner. CeePolk absence was glaring.
