(Heleen Mees was in the past a very prominent feminist in the Netherlands. Some have credited her with being one of the first to popularise third wave feminism.)
 
Recycling that old PZ video that he has apologized for and said it was before he recognized the problem is not a legitimate argument against the man. And with so many legitimate arguments, why bother using it?

Yet is still allowed, through the FTB advertising stream, to appear next to their content. Maybe you should rush over to the A+ forum and let your fellow acolytes know.

This was addressed on one of these 3 threads, not going to hunt for it, but it was recent.

FTB asks you to tell them and that advertiser gets blocked, but they can't block them 'til found and the advertisers often just change the ad or something and it slips in again.

The ads are directed at the viewer, not something FTB sees from their end.


It's still ironic. :)

I am not now and have never been a member of A+. The last time I was an acolyte was as an alter boy.

Use ad block and you will see no ads at all so when I see someone complain about ads I assume they either want to see them or are incompetent.

I remember, we were discussing it.

They prefer the revenue over removing the potential for ads they'd obviously call misogynist appearing next to their version of SJW feminist content. They could, instead, sell their own adspace independently of a service or do more donation soliciting for upkeep.

None of them are blogging on FTB for their primary occupation, are they?

When you see me "complain" about ads it will be the first time you've seen it. I don't block ads on this browser because I want to see them.

As to whether you were an "alter" boy, that's of no consequence and I'm not judging. If you want a gender-neutral pronoun, just let me know which you prefer. :)

If I recall correctly, A+ actually regards any mention of spelling or grammar mistakes as a form of patriarchal oppression.

Unless, of course, the mistake is getting a pronoun gender wrong in conversation with a stranger whose gender identity is neither apparent nor relevant to the subject, in which case it's tantamount to sexual harassment.

Is there any historical record of Hitler's attitude about proper spelling? There's some evidence that Hitler was a less than perfect speller herself.
