I'd like to make it known that my many, dirty, filthy kinks are completely separate from my genderqueerness. Somehow, that statement is completely relevant to this thread :p .

Actually, the "fetish" idea is an old one that was used against "regular" transgendered people.

What I don't understand about all this, will there have to be separate public toilets for non male/females in future. By the current count of the way people are trying to fix some form of new "gender identity", how many separate toilets will need to be constructed, and more importantly, what symbols are going to be used to identify who goes where? This is all very confusing. Is this a conspiracy, one set up by plumbers/plumbing firms to produce trade during a lenient time, is that board sponsored by Armitage Shanks?

I once went to a straight club with a group that included a cross dresser (male dressed as female). When he/she needed to pee, I was asked to accompany him/her to a private outdoor location, because he/she was not comfortable using either the men's or women's room.

[sarcasm]We really do need a third restroom in all public places for "other" like in the old south when there was men, women, and "colored."[/sarcasm]

The unisex public toiletWP is common in Japan, BTW, but I imagine androphobic Aplussers would not be comfortable in one.

No, we'll just have one giant bathroom, with the entire spectrum laid out along its length, and each person will use the section that they are most comfortable in (there will be a hell of a lot of doors).


It will be laid out in a curve though, to limit sight lines, so you never have to see or be seen by people too far away from your comfort zone.

I imagine the paint scheme will be some sort of rainbow.

Of course, a more sensible solution would be to just eliminate communal bathrooms all together, and have a group of individual rooms, that anyone can use.

Because really, does anyone like taking a crap right next to other people, regardless of their gender identity?

Monty Python forsaw the worries of social justice movements 30 years ago in the "Life of Brian". Well, actually they didn't forsee it. The mannerisms of activists just haven't changed since decades.
 
So...what's new on the A+ front ?

Well first of all we had someone who has the same queries and confusions about the whole genderqueer thing as I did. Their mistake ? Asking about it on the A+ forum, in the information and answers section to boot.

The result

A pile on and my official handing in of my cynics card.
 
Next we have the beginning of the unraveling. I'll copy and paste in the relevant posts as I highly suspect they're headed for deletion as a mod is under attack.

This is going to tax the autocensor to the limit apologies to the JREF should one of their servers catch on fire.

I'll go with two posts in one from the mods being capricious thread.

There are some other things, too. I dunno about Kassiane, but I'm starting to see aspects of ally-shielding/let's-protect-our-in-group-member coming from some of the regulars and mods. Samsa would be one example. This is another.

The last 'amazing super pro-SJ group' I was in, I got thrown out of partially because they had MASSIVE internal blind spots and utterly refused to talk about some of them. I don't want to see A+ go the same way. So...please, can we listen to internal criticisms rather than just, even quietly, closing ranks around the 'accused' and silencing the 'accuser'?

That's been my feeling from the start, Ceepolk.

Only recently have I been learning about what my husband went through with his ADHD. Abuse like this is probably the most insidious of all, really. I'm just coming to grips through our couple's therapy what hubby's father put him through when he was a child... and I am *********** livid.

Hubby's dad has been dying too....so I have had plenty of "I wish he would die already" fantasies.

And that's just secondhand. I can't even imagine what someone who has suffered this directly might think.

Why isn't anyone speculating what kind of abuse this young man's mother may have put him through. After all, nobody had contact with him, and his mother was the first person he blew away.

Actually, I have not seen much "Social Justice" in Atheism Plus so far. What I have seen is the creation of a safe place for the moderators so that they can humiliate, insult and ban unsuspecting forum participants, but not much else.

Oh man, that thread has pretty much all of my problems with the forum in it. It takes all the way until the end of the second page with SubMor's post to actually have a legit response to the OP.
