How could you understand the plight of oppressed hobgoblins from your non-hobgob privilege. You are so insensitive. I ban you for a day...

By banning me you have become the oppressor, you should now ban yourself.

I wonder if Aplussers start to ban each others, it will create a singularity where if you post there, you will never get out...
The entire admin and mod team will realize that by exercising their power to moderate, suspend, and ban other members, they are actually oppressing them. They will therefore ban themselves.

And a mighty fine job you did over there too. :)

I've always thought it was a strange combination, marrying skepticism/atheism with political woo and as I suspected the woo always wins out.

This is looking more like a joke or a marketing ploy. Should A+ be snidely referred to as Rebecca's Revenge ?

With anti-racism the whole goal is to examine just how much white people suck and as a white person, the only way you can be on board with A+ is to not only agree with their white people sucking examples, but post some of your own.

Anybody do blackface for Halloween ? HA! evil!...expose it, condemn it and say something about systemic racism. Foremost, though, if a PoC tells you something then that's got. GOT to be taken as the truth, ask no questions and say "thank you for the 101" Don't post too many words lest you be seen as trying to *dominate* the thread., remember, you're a white guy, your proper position is curled up at the APlusser's feet.

Don't forget to drop lots of f-bombs, "progressives" seem to like that. The more hardcore, the more f-bombs. Mention *being institutionalized against your will* then refuse to elaborate on it, you need to find some common ground amongst some of the key players.

All you need do to keep your skeptic cred is mention a few logical fallacies every now and then and you'll have a productive time with the political correctors.

It might be fun to email an A+ link to gendertrender. :p

I was institutionalized against my will for 3 months and I use the F bomb a lot among friends. :( What have I become. :covereyes

What is it with americans and making a pop-cultural movement out of every shade or variant of belief?

:boxedin:

I would venture to guess it's because there's a perception that socially we're in many ways stuck in an outdated modality overall in this country, or a perception that the country is in decline in some other way, and people feel empowered by actually finding a podium for their voice on the internet when you used to only be able to yell at your TV alone in the living room.

The threat of theocracy, stuff like that. And it's only recently that the "you can all be president if you want to be" generation has entered adult hood, and we all think we're eventually going to change the world once we get around to that point of our lives, after we've grown and experienced a bit more,...

Something like that.

I notice while I'm in Europe that it seems like the older you are there the better you dress, up until a ceiling point. Where as here in America usually the people 30 and over wear sweats and pajamas to Walmart, in Europe you all wear business suits and stylish clothing and, in Moscow, they all look like vampires from the Matrix. And by Europe I mean Spain, Germany, and the Netherlands.

I hear they've got rednecks in the UK.

If you think of A+ as a game, then self identifying as a white man means your automatically defaulted to playing on the highest difficulty setting. You need something, anything, to help you level the field. Adjusting to the culture, if you will.

A spanish-speaking black gay woman in a wheelchair was worth the most points when hired; what now?

People should be judged on what they do, end of line.

Actually, that is the problem. Look at Justin Vacula. He had the audacity to write for A Voice for Men and to argue with Surly Amy. Both actions deemed by them as hate crimes.

It is the mix of irrational though, hyper-sensibility and cult-like dogmas that created this cesspool.

A rule can't take care of ignorance.

Hey, Look at me. I took on the (female) president of the Florida Humanists and now I am a gay misogynist MRA. :eye-poppi

(Trigger Warning: Video of me talking into the camera.)

Walter, I watched your video in its entirety and I find your experience very enlightening.

First, you were uncertain to the relevance of your question on whether Rebecca was paid or not as a speaker. It is actually very relevant. They may not want to divulge the amount but from a conflict of interest stand point, the conference organizers must divulge that there are paid speakers. There is nothing wrong with having paid speakers but it needs to be disclosed.

On the misogynist issue, this is becoming more and more evident that they see any dissent as a conspiracy against them. I like your response to them blocking you.

I feel that the atheist community needs to take them to task at conferences as these radicals are damaging the atheist communities and make their work less relevant.
