"Grafted in" is the phrase I always heard.

The Jews were the chosen people but blew it with Jesus so then the gentiles got their chance.


Jesus Christ is of the lineage of David and of the tribe of Judah, but we will later see that all that are not part of the original tribes of Israel, but are “in Christ Jesus” are therefore, grafted in to the elect/chosen tribe of Judah and thus inherit the promises originally meant for only Israel.

Good question. That's straight out of John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

I wonder, does it have something to do with "begotten," meaning the only son conceived when he actually humped a mortal woman, while the rest of us who are brothers and sisters in Christ were conceived in a more circumspect manner?

his only begotten Son, - (this time God did it himself. Previous biblical mention of such things occurring are in Genesis 6:1-8
This says then the god had sons already. This particular Son was part human but seeded by the father-god, rather than by any of the sons of the father- god)

that whosoever (no race or gender preference)


believeth in him (presumably 'believe in Jesus')


should not perish, (be deleted.)


but have everlasting life. (be saved)

If we're being technical, Kirk did captain USS Excelsior is the comic book series (and no, the comics are apocryphal canon!)

OMG. There's Star Trek Apocrypha? I hope there's a creed, dogma and schisms as well.

Can't wait til one day someone digs up the Neutral Zone Scrolls and the whole canon needs to be reassessed...
