You are primarily concerned with food, drink and games. You are somewhat hedonistic, but you are still very careful with money and tend to save money rather than spending it. This being said you have a general problem with change and a more specific problem with relating to new people or to changes in your friends characters.

You are the natural thorn in the side of false appearances, you are fated to devote much of your time to conflict with those deceived by appearances because they draw hasty conclusions from the world around them.

You are a law-abiding and well-behaved person. You have a great need to fit in with a group rather than stick out and be original. You fear becoming socially isolated if you do so. However this does not appear to harmonise particular well with something else in your chart.

You have a deep emotional need to talk, to communicate with others. You are a witty and amusing person. You most likely keep yourself amused with word-games and puzzles. You have an easy time describing and understanding structure and pattern, which means you are probably rather adept at science and mathematics.

Your imagination is predominant over what you do, you act to realise your dreams even at the expense of long-term planning and the completion of past projects. You do find it easy however to find the energy to accomplish your will.

You greatly enjoy arguing for your own beliefs with others, beliefs which tend not to change very easily or often. This is an over-developed aspect of your character and you frequently do not know when to stop.

You appear to have great ability to succeed relatively easily and effortlessly in education and also in your career. You appear to also have the potential to transform either the Scientific or the Legal world.

For comparison would it not make sense to see how well this applied to others as well?

For example several things could apply equally to me, and probably to many people.

Also you cover several bases with contradictions.

"primarily concerned with food, drink and games"
yet also
"devote much of your time to conflict with those deceived by appearances"
and
"you act to realise your dreams"
whilst being
"hedonistic"
and
"very careful with money"
and
"adept at science and mathematics"

He has a
"great need to fit in with a group"
yet
"You greatly enjoy arguing for your own beliefs with others, beliefs which tend not to change very easily or often. ...you frequently do not know when to stop."

So a wild child but cautious, argumentative but needs to not stick out, concerned with food, drink, games, science, maths, talking, money... etc.

It's all rather generic.

"You appear to also have the potential to transform either the Scientific or the Legal world."
Well who doesn't, potentially?

How about right now?

So here is the reading.

Your reading.

This is my brother. Close but a miss.

You are primarily concerned with food, drink and games. You are somewhat hedonistic, but you are still very careful with money and tend to save money rather than spending it. This being said you have a general problem with change and a more specific problem with relating to new people or to changes in your friends characters.
The dude is vegetarian and he doesn't drink. Miss.

He is currently saving money but he is a major waster of cash when we were kids. Pseudo-hit.

Don't know about the last one...he's a major player in his church and moved from Malaysia to Singapore to Philadelphia and finally to Blackburn with no problems fitting in and making friends.-miss
You are the natural thorn in the side of false appearances, you are fated to devote much of your time to conflict with those deceived by appearances because they draw hasty conclusions from the world around them.
A bit too vague for me to really say anything. No call.
You are a law-abiding and well-behaved person. You have a great need to fit in with a group rather than stick out and be original. You fear becoming socially isolated if you do so. However this does not appear to harmonise particular well with something else in your chart.
Sure, so is most of the human race...unless you're a sociopath. No points.
You have a deep emotional need to talk, to communicate with others. You are a witty and amusing person. You most likely keep yourself amused with word-games and puzzles.
First part is too vague and the part about word-games and puzzles is false. Miss.

You have an easy time describing and understanding structure and pattern, which means you are probably rather adept at science and mathematics.
Head smack. Well, you've identified about anyone who is a professional. He is definitely adept at science but not very good at math. Vague hit.
Your imagination is predominant over what you do, you act to realise your dreams even at the expense of long-term planning and the completion of past projects. You do find it easy however to find the energy to accomplish your will.
Too vague to be useful.
You greatly enjoy arguing for your own beliefs with others, beliefs which tend not to change very easily or often. This is an over-developed aspect of your character and you frequently do not know when to stop.
Major miss. He hates talking to me about religion or some of the woo he believes in.
You appear to have great ability to succeed relatively easily and effortlessly in education and also in your career.
Well he is a smart guy but can't call his career "easy" or "effortless". He has failed on several occasions and worked very hard for what he does. Miss.
You appear to also have the potential to transform either the Scientific or the Legal world.
Too vague and unlikely.

Not one mention of his career or love life?
Also posted at the other thread.

Okay. You are being sneaky deliberately. For good reason.

By a major player in his church do you mean clergyman?

The saving money bit is interesting. Because of the 5th House is not exactly a frugal house, while the Tauros Sun definately is. The contradiction, the psuedo-hit as you put it makes Astrological sense.

Vegetarianism and not drinking is interesting because I don't know what exactly corresponds with them.

How could I be so stupid though! 9th House Mars I have seen represents travelling before! :(:(:(:(:(:(

A bit too vague for me to really say anything. No call.

I understand, trouble is the closest aspect to his Sun is Inconjunction to Neptune, which would mean something to do with conflict or difficulty.

Perhaps it actually means the precise opposite. Maybe it means that the person is prone to those things? I was betting it was you so I went for the former course. :o:o:o:o:o

Sure, so is most of the human race...unless you're a sociopath. No points.

Great. A fat lot of good you are. Can't even tell me if someone is bad or good.

First part is too vague and the part about word-games and puzzles is false. Miss.

Is he an emotionally charged speaker then?

Head smack. Well, you've identified about anyone who is a professional. He is definitely adept at science but not very good at math. Vague hit.

:D:D:D:D:D It was Maths or Science.

Too vague to be useful.

It is what the Astrology says.

Major miss. He hates talking to me about religion or some of the woo he believes in.

That might just be the more concrete effects of the Uranus opposition then. I did note a contradiction there.

Well he is a smart guy but can't call his career "easy" or "effortless". He has failed on several occasions and worked very hard for what he does. Miss.

Maybe 10th House Jupiter simply means Clergyman or Philosopher then. My sister has it and she got As at everything, despite all the difficulties she had.

Too vague and unlikely.

Not one mention of his career or love life?
Also posted at the other thread.

Love life with whom? As for career well, something of the following.

Church/Philosophy (Jupiter).
Beauty/Fashion (Libra).
Leadership/Power (Ceres).

Perhaps it actually means the precise opposite. Maybe it means that the person is prone to those things? I was betting it was you so I went for the former course.

Thank you for admitting that at least part of your reading was taking facts you already knew and attempting to attribute them to astrology.

Ashles
You are primarily concerned with food, drink and games.
I like all of these. Wouldn't say they were my primary concern.

You are somewhat hedonistic, but you are still very careful with money and tend to save money rather than spending it. This being said you have a general problem with change and a more specific problem with relating to new people or to changes in your friends characters.
Miss to all of those, except the last bit (which I would imagine would be a hit for most people).

You are the natural thorn in the side of false appearances, you are fated to devote much of your time to conflict with those deceived by appearances because they draw hasty conclusions from the world around them.
A good guess for most people on this forum.

You are a law-abiding and well-behaved person.
Hit, as would be for most people.

You have a great need to fit in with a group rather than stick out and be original. You fear becoming socially isolated if you do so.
Not particularly.

However this does not appear to harmonise particular well with something else in your chart.
Well without specifying what this is it comes across as bet hedging.

You have a deep emotional need to talk, to communicate with others.
Most people do.

You are a witty and amusing person.
Again I would imagine most people would like to think of this as a hit.
Ironically in my case it is particularly true. :)

You most likely keep yourself amused with word-games and puzzles.
A bit, not especially.

You have an easy time describing and understanding structure and pattern,
When tested on this at Uni I have performed at an unusually high level.

which means you are probably rather adept at science and mathematics.
Above average.

Your imagination is predominant over what you do,
I write creatively

you act to realise your dreams even at the expense of long-term planning and the completion of past projects. You do find it easy however to find the energy to accomplish your will.
Not so much.

You greatly enjoy arguing for your own beliefs with others, beliefs which tend not to change very easily or often.
Again, like most people.

This is an over-developed aspect of your character and you frequently do not know when to stop.
Again like many people.

You appear to have great ability to succeed relatively easily and effortlessly in education and also in your career. You appear to also have the potential to transform either the Scientific or the Legal world.
When you tsalk about 'ability' or 'potential' this is very generic and could apply to anyone.

In theory anyone might transform these fields.

But why specifically those two fields?

So for me a decent number of hits, fair few misses.

The point is, were I an astrology believer, I would have latched onto a couple of the strong hits and declared them "amazing"
("He knew about my pattern and structure knowledge... He knew I was creative... He knew I liked science..." etc.)
and ignored the misses.

Give me your details then.
This exercise is pointless. There is no way to tell if the readings are being percieved as more accurate than they would be by chance.

If you want to do a proper test which would produce meaningful results, get somone (a moderator perhaps) to collect the birth details of a bunch of posters by PM, and PM them to you. You then post the readings. The volunteers pick out the reading they think is theirs, and PM the moderator. The moderator then posts which reading each volunteer chose and which was really which, and we see how many picked the right one. If you do significantly better than chance, you've demonstrated that there is something to astrology.

Thank you for admitting that at least part of your reading was taking facts you already knew and attempting to attribute them to astrology.

That's how one determines what things do in Astrology. You take facts you already know and then you take a theory and see how it fits or doesn't fit.

However I missed one very crucial observation that I had not only seen before, which was the 9th House Mars travelling connection.

The point is, were I an astrology believer, I would have latched onto a couple of the strong hits and declared them "amazing"
("He knew about my pattern and structure knowledge... He knew I was creative... He knew I liked science..." etc.)
and ignored the misses.

Misses are as important as hits. It's just that it's hits that SELL and not misses. ;);););)

It is the misses that generate increased knowledge.

Anyway, if it fits you so well, I would like to have your info.

I already started doing that. I have the time to do this now I think.

However it assumes that the Astrologers knowledge of Astrology is flawless. Therefore it doesn't really test Astrology, merely Astrologers.

Wow, an amazing amount of that applied to ME. With the exception of the date of birth, place of birth, and time of birth (none of which were even remotely close to mine), it was eeeeeerily accurate. And the stars tell me that a number of people will feel the same way.

That's how one determines what things do in Astrology. You take facts you already know and then you take a theory and see how it fits or doesn't fit.

This is why science is far superior. Science does not begin with an answer in mind already, but comes to a conclusion based upon the evidence.

You, on the other hand, take what you already know and make it fit. How can you be confident in a system that allows for something (inconjunction to Neptune?) to stand for either one thing or its "precise opposite"? Can't you then make it say whatever you want?

Why is it so open to interpretation? The stars either tell us something, or they don't. Do they mumble? I could throw things off the top of my head like "You like being in the heat sometimes, but you also enjoy the cold" but that's hardly earth-shattering.

Take the test open-book then. Use as many books as you want.

The astrologer doesn't have to get everything right, just enough right to make a statistically significant difference. The reading only needs to be slightly more accurate than readings which are of someone else entirely to be the one picked out, and the hit rate only needs to be significantly greater than that expected by chance (easily calculated), not 100%. So the astrologer would have to be very bad indeed - completely useless, in fact - to do no better than chance.

I thought Science began with a hypothesis and then tested the hypothesis against the evidence.

The problem is that most Astrologers writings are a bit like the following.

Inconjunctions mean that there is a 'poor energy flow' between the two objects. This causes difficulties in the relationship between the two planets.

I thought Science began with a hypothesis and then tested the hypothesis against the evidence.

You're right here. I should have been more clear. We don't claim to know why something happened and then make the evidence we find fit our conclusion. We test hypotheses, and if the results don't prove them out, we discard those hypotheses and try new ones.
