Assistance required for telepathy proof

The one thing I'm not pleased with here is not having a third option of "I have no idea what card Golfy has", but if the protocol above is followed that shouldn't be a big deal.

That's not a big deal. The presumption golfy is making is that his telepathy works reliably (and it is just that people are dishonest acknowledging that fact). So the test needs to show either it works or it doesn't. If the subject truly has no idea, it doesn't work.

I think you should require the test subject always respond "no" to the questions. That makes the device interpretation just a matter of differential readings for each round, and it eliminates any stress that might be induced by the subject having to choose between yes and no answers.

hello Golfy :) I am a telepathic sender. I can send over any distance. Let's do a test over this forum. What do you say? I'm not kidding you.

Hi ferj,

If that is the case then you will win the $1M before I do.

Hi ferj,

I am not aware of anyones thoughs as far as I know. If you are a transmitter than can't someone locally hear you?

I guess you're right. That just feels wrong to me, but I can't think of an actual practical problem with it.

The real underlying problem with this, though, is that it can be argued that all it will prove is that the Stress Test device is unreliable. That's probably true, of course, but it might still leave us with Golfy insisting everyone is lying to him. I don't really see any way to prove or disprove that in a way that would be convincing to Golfy.

Yes, someone locally can hear me, but I have the same problem as you. My sister is aware of my talents but for some strange reason refuses point blank to admit it or even talk in a rational way about it. Maybe she feels she isn't in control of the situation or is just plain scared. People can be so selfish and disappointing.

Doesn't matter, though. Golfy has a claim and a protocol that he proposes to demonstrate it. If he fails, the reason doesn't matter. He fails.

To jsfisher,

That is exactly right. It is my task to proprose a protocol that the JREF accept and inspect for methods of cheating. If they are happy that the results cannot be created by any other means other than the receiver can hear my thoughts then that is the test. All I have to do is then make sure the actual test works at a high a level as I can obtain, idealy 100%.

To Sledge,

What is the point in you asking questions about this if you have not read my notes or listened to the recording. The person doing the cat ship test IS my Doctor. I knew she could hear my thoughts as she gave off visual clues (to my thoughts about her) when I spoke to her at the end of February when I had a dose of food poisoning. My conclusion that she can hear my thoughts has been confirmed by the cat ship test.

Whereas here on planet Earth, we establish what people are thinking by asking them. You see, thinking that you have telepathic powers and that people are lying about it would be a sign of mental illness. I suggest you talk to your doctor about this and respond to what she says, not assume what she means based on visual clues.

Fair enough. Okay then, take a look at the protocol I suggested (with the modification that the participant would say "no" to both questions). That protocol may or may not be similar to what someone from the JREF would suggest or be happy with, but it is for sure closer than your original method. Hopefully you understand the reason for the neutral third party and why you would have to label the stress test results prior to seeing the rest of the data, but if not let me know and I'll do my best to explain.

For the last two days I have been staring at your posts and transmitting "use the Quote button . . . use the quote button . . ."

Have you detected my message at any time?

golfy,

I've stayed out of this thread because I haven't felt the need to offer any advice. You are getting great advice from many other posters. I do have a question, though. If you cannot trust your sister, if you cannot trust any friend, then why do you think you can trust JREF? Your sister has no money on the line, in fact she only has money to gain by just being honest with you. The same is true of apparently every friend you have. JREF stands to lose a million dollars, but you seem to trust them. I don't understand why.

I mean I trust them, but I don't understand why you do when you do not trust even the people closest to you, especially when there's money in it for them. What do you think is going on?

Thanks,
Ward
