Merged Artificial Intelligence

The head of Microsoft AI has warned that without adequate safeguards, the development of AI could lead to the emergence of a new "silicon species" wich competes with humans.

Mustafa Suleyman said rival firm Anthropic is treating AI like it is human, an approach he called "misguided" which could create technology that humanity cannot control.

Speaking to the BBC's Today programme, the chief executive said it was "right" for people to be concerned about AI, but there were "very practical things that we can do" to control it.

Suleyman couldn't hack a philosophy and theology undergraduate degree. There's absolutely 0 chance he knows anything about what he's talking about.

He's just another business idiot taken in by the latest tech grift.

According to the biggest two AI companies' CEOs the profits are just around the corner, just need another trillion of investment and then they will be making trillions...
That’s their problem, not ours. And arthwollipot was talking about them earning too much, not too little.

Welcome to the RL Wargames... an AI chatbot almost led the US to attack a Chinese vessel, potentially starting a war with China.

Turns out you don't need terminators when you can get the humans to do the job for you.
We were about to seize and search it, not attack it. And that would not have started a war, though it would have been a major diplomatic kerfuffle, and an embarrassment to us.

The Trump administration had actually loosened existing regulations.

Is income the problem with AI?
Will the only way for AI companies to make back their huge investments be to be the first to develop human-level intelligence which they can then sell to companies who can then replace most of their workers?
