Indeed: why didn't they racially profile their housekeeper? I mean, she had documents, the letter said that the discrepancy could come from a name change, and she said she had changed her name... but she's hispanic, so they shouldn't have trusted her.

Damn Republicans, why won't they racially profile people, and then invent reasons to fire them? The hypocrisy of it all!

Sadly, it often is. But it doesn't have to be, not like this anyways. One doesn't need to vote for Whitman, or want her to win, in order to recognize that Allred is a pathetic hack with no case. The silence on the thread is a sort of tacit admission of as much. But it would be nice if that admission were made explicit by those who had supported the accusation. Perhaps that's too much to expect, but it's not too much to desire.
