architects and engineers for truth, population 1

Well, he's a physicist. He went to school and got a degree or two. He's just not a very credible or good one.

Yes, my dismissal of his earned Ph.D was an overstatement.

But the sentiment stands. Steven Jones lost his scientific credibility a long time ago.

I still can't fathom why this supposedly huge 'truth' movement can't raise enough cash to commision a respected but independant firm of structural engineers, even from a 'nuetral' country such as sweden, who could then examine the NIST report and provide a proper critique.

No wait, I take back those first five words....it's coming to me....yeah....yep....I see now..... ok confusion over....carry on.

Then again, that could describe me, but my degree is in Theatre Arts (minor in English Literature), not physics.

That's a great point. Some nutty group (such as a hypothetical one that nutty me might choose to enroll in) could list me as an English literature/American poetry "scholar," although I haven't formally studied those subjects in many years. I've taught college students, but I'm not an education expert. I've had high-level jobs in businesses, but I'm not a business expert. I've been an athlete and Olympic hopeful, but I'm not a sports expert. I know a lot about New York City, but many people know much more than I do.

I've walked across continents. Okay, I'm a walking and camping expert. Why isn't the phone ringing? When is the big walking/camping conspiracy going to happen?

As for the rest of my experience, someone with a particular agenda could count it as expertise, especially if I encouraged them to, although NONE of it is.

It's interesting to note that these 9/11 "scholars" are largely ex-professors, who perhaps relish the chance to let their hair down without institutional repercussions. Considering how certifiably crazy some of the tenured (humanities, at least) professors I've known were, I shudder to think what endorsements they'd be capable of outside of academia.

Tnx for the up, nice read. Especially the Richard Gage one.

The truth is getting out. Beware Gravy. I mean, if you have any shame. You will have to live in the woods after the 911 hoax have been exposed.:p

pagan, I have, in total, lived for three years with a tent as my home. When your fascist revolution happens, I'll be right here to tell them that their mothers are calling them for dinner. And they'll listen. I won't need to make camp. Because the people you believe in are morons.

Morons, pagan.

You worship morons.

What does that say about you?

I think that was the biblical Exodus.

Of course, it was the joos.

Pagan...do me a favor. in 5 years, when your "revolution" is reduced to obscure novels in the bottom of the amazon.com barrel, and DVDs in the $1.99 bin, come back here and admit you were wrong. You'll feel better when you do.

TAM:)

He's horny, so what?

His hottie wife and he broke up, he's horny, he engages in wenchery for hire.

How does this matter?

DR

Anyone that would choose a skanky whore over Denise Richards is clearly mentally ill. Oh yeah, there's also the death threats, compulsive gambling, hiding guns under the coffee table. What normal person wouldn't be checking their sports bets when their wife was in labor?

Wow, you have listed some of the 0.00067 percent of all US engineers who have joined the liars of 9/11 truth movement. Not very many.

I have always wondered how Dr Jones' expertise in "cold" fusion helps his loony tune ideas on thermite? Do you know how this would work?

Doubtful; Disney is run by Zionist Michael Eisner.

(I kid!)

So, no whining about beachnut not using "fact" in this post? Since that's all you have on him....

Any idea when that'll be?

If I book my escape flight 6 months in advance, I get a discount.

Maybe they'll get someone who works at Disneyland as an "Imagineer" to join.

I doubt it. My understanding us that Imagineers are fully qualified (and as a rule, quite talented) engineers in their respective fields.

Some of them might even know a thing or two about structures subjected to unusual dynamic loads.

Of couse, I may have been fooled by the mouse's estimable propaganda machine.

Respectfully,
Myriad

Disney does have a large "Imagineering" team who primarily design theme parks and theme park rides. This includes civil engineers (you should see the wastewater treatment plants designed for some parks!), architects, structural engineers (facilities), structural engineers (attractions), electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, landscape architects, thematic designers, and more!

Regardless of what you believe, it is correct.

A rule of thumb, if it was on Screw Loose Change, it was probably correct. :D

:) Good find, thanks. I can believe he runs the golf course in Rancho del Cielo, CA - that's only 90 or so miles from Long Beach. I just had heard something about a FL golf course.
He is licensed, he is a member of ASCE - although the whole "charter member" of the SEI is a little misleading. In the last several years, ASCE has gone to an "institute" concept - with institutes in Construction, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Environmental and Water Resources, Geotechnical, etc. The SEI was one of the first (maybe even the first) about ten years ago. "Charter member" does not denote "founding member" or even "selection" to be a member - it just means he was a member of ASCE at the time the SEI was started, and paid to be a member of the new institute.

Eric Douglas (Architect)
Brian Duncan (Fire Protection Engineering)
Judson Witham (High Rise/Mid Rise/Low Rise Construction/demolition)
Joseph M. Phelps (Structural Dynamicist Charter Member, Structural Engineering Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers)
Tom Spellman (Civil engineering, architecture)
Michael Lovingier (Structural/Environmental Engineering)
Doyle Winterton (Civil Engineering Structural Engineering)
Michael Maguire (Mechanical engineering, Aeronautical engineering)
Ted Muga (Naval aviator; Commercial pilot; Structural engineering
I removed the guys involved in non relevant fields to construction from your list.

From that list there's only one guy who has spoken out on the World Trade Center's collapse: Eric Douglas (architect). Together with Charles N. Pegelow (structural engineer), William Rice (structural engineer) and that new guy Richard Gage (architect), it seems that after five and a half years you troofers now have two architects and two structural engineers on your side. Way to go. Maybe in twenty years or so one of the guys might get the idea to send a paper to an actual scientific journal.

Wouldn't count on it though.
