Merged Apollo "hoax" discussion - continuation thread

Personally, what I get out of the Apollo Hoax nonsense is some amazing trivia about the details of how things worked.

It's almost as much fun as talking to a museum docent who flew the plane you're looking at.

I thought I knew quite a lot about the Apollo Program, until I joined Apollohoax.net and started reading the stuff posted by JayUtah, KA9Q, Astrobrant, STS60, onebigmonkey et al, in reply to questions posted by other users.

No HB has ever been able to come up with a documented, detailed, blow-by-blow account of exactly how Apollo might have been faked; its the fine detail that posters like the ones I mentioned above, that shows the HB's are just plain wrong on every level.

I always like the part about being able to see a slightly different view of the Moon from way south verses way north.

Oh, and don't forget moonrise v moonset, and periselene v aposelene.

I would love for some flat-earther to explain this....

....evil science trickery and photo-shop??

Well, they will struggle with the Photoshop part...

Lunar Libration was first extensively studied by German astronomer Tobias Mayer, in his publication Kosmographische Nachrichten in 1750.

It just shows how deep it goes

Without wishing to derail this most interesting thread, what exactly do flat earthers believe about the moon?

Do they accept it as spherical, or are all the solar system bodies discs in their delusions?

We could ask Malbec next week, since he's a flat earther too.

Well dang and I'm going on vacation and will miss his final performance here.

I do presume if garners yet another holiday from the site that will be the last one?

Depends, has someone been suspended for more than a month before on this site?

Nevertheless, I think Malbec will be walking the same route as FalseFlag.

Spherical.
I don't know how widely accepted the idea is, but this from Flat Earth Society Wiki
The moon is a sphere. It has a diameter of 32 miles and is located approximately 3000 miles above the surface of the earth.
Oh, and before you ask?
Rotoundity
Q. If the planets are round, why isn't the earth?

A. The earth is not a planet.

I'd start by making the Soviets part of the hoax. At that point, maybe you just need to have the first stage of the Saturn crash somewhere in the Atlantic.

You mean the last stage don't you? The first stage DID crash into the Atlantic (and was found in 2013 - http://www.collectspace.com/news/news-032013a.html)

In any case, Jodrell Bank tracked the Apollo spacecraft all the way to the moon and back, so crashing the S5 is not an option. Your CT has to involve the British government and most of the British Scientific establishment, right down to the dish operators at Jodrell Bank.

ETA....and the Aussie dish staff at Parkes, and the Spanish DSN staff in Madrid, Spain. We're up for four countries already, and we haven't even got halfway to the moon yet!

Thanks! That's just looney... (see what I did there?)
