Merged Apollo "hoax" discussion - continuation thread

Well, you know the old saying... if you've half a mind to be a conspiracy theorist, that is all you will ever need!

I'm also amused by the attempt to link acceptance of the reality of the Apollo program with support for Donald Trump's presidential bid. The day of the South Carolina Republican primary I went out to eat with my family at a local restaurant. A man sitting with a large group nearby had his "I voted" sticker on his shirt and was conversing with a friend about his enthusiasm for Trump. About ten minutes later another man at the table teased him about his belief that the moon landings were hoaxed, and he confirmed to the others that he regards the whole thing as a "big show for the cameras". I'd bet a bag of doughnuts that a survey of hard-core Trump supporters would show a considerably higher percentage of Apollo hoax belief than a control sample from the general population.

Unsurprising given The Donald's fanaticism with the Birther issue. Its another issue that is quite settled in favour of the commonly accepted history (Obama was born in Hawaii, a boni fide State of the Union, and IS a natural born citizen of the USA),,,,,,, and yet, despite every question being answered, Trump and his ilk, which obviously includes his voting supporters, continue to believe a contrary history.

As for NASA's "agenda," the Apollo record is a documentary body. How that constitutes an "agenda" is left for you to explain.
.

I noted that rather odd phrase as well. "Agenda" implies a future course. The Apollo Program took place and was documented, five decades ago. (Grandparents such as myself, were preteens when Apollo began) If Apollo represents an agenda, just what was it and how was it realized? (or, in another tense, what was the agenda, begun in the 1960/70s that carries on today, and how is it being realized?)

A NASA agenda wrt supporting the history of the Apollo Program is a patently stupid notion, IMHO.

Jay quite possibly two brothers could easily come to the conclusion that the entire Apollo missions were nothing but poop! Poop is the appropriate word, the underlying framework, the essence of this incredible lie fed to the American people and the world! How apropos that poop is so important in this discussion. Any person with 1/2 a brain can see there are too many discrepancies in the entire NASA agenda. Well I guess there are millions of 1/2 brained people in the USA who let this country get so out of hand that Hillary & Trump are leading candidates! These people are not interested in Apollo, poop or anything but what they have been meticulously been trained to focus on money! It is hard to swallow when I think of Apollo. I want to spend my days like my brother battling Jay and Company! Happy belated St, Patrick's Day to you all. Don't you think it is time to rid the USA of all the snakes and their Poop!

Ah, of course. It's obvious, and anyone who disagrees is either an idiot or a paid shill. That's a good way to avoid posting any evidence so your case doesn't hinge on evidence but on the intangible character of your faceless critics.

Brilliant.

Especially considering what a dedicated liar his brother was. Everything from lying while accepting the Terms of Service on multiple sites to sign up his endless sock-puppets, to lying about his background and qualifications, to lying about the subject matter, to lying about the arguments themselves.

The funny thing was, he was a terrible liar, and never got any better at it despite all that practice. Whatever went wrong with him near the end, he left an indelible record of dishonesty and preening incompetence smeared across the Internet because of his scatological fixation with Apollo. His brother, if our recent poster is really that, should just let it be so he can be remembered for better things.

The problem was that Dr Socks never did debate, he bypassed enormously informative posts, disappeared and pretended they never happened.

Now here you are like the proverbial "twin" doing the same thing. Why bother quoting a post without addressing it?

"While we're on that subject, why is it that when I set it up for Dr. Patrick Teleki, MD, to discuss the matter in person with NASA Ames Research Center flight surgeons, he fled? Did he ever explain to you why he wouldn't share his official medical findings with other licensed physicians?"

Do you have a problem with questions? Dr Socks did, does it run in the family?

And I wouldn't risk my bag of doughnuts taking you on in that bet.

I'll even raise that, and say what the same would apply to twoofers!

I read that this morning. At some point, someone is going to cite that article as proof of the hoax. Almost guaranteed- CTists don't do any context other than their own.
By the very nature of what they are, HB's are ill equipped to recognize a Poe when they see one, not to mention the fact that they don't have anything that resembles a sense of humour when it comes to Apollo.

This sort of thing has happened before too, with this (which I have cited and posted previously)

There are CTers out there who really think it is evidence that Mars landings already discovered life there back in the 1960's. Like the article linked by Captain Swoop, it was a Poe; an April Fools leg-pull.

Then there was the Onion piece about Neil Armstrong becoming convinced that the Apollo program was faked. I've seen that cited a couple of times by CTs.
