Anyone following the Casey Anthony trial

Okay, I had the news on this morning and I don't want to start a self righteous rant thread about this case being the opitome of reality tv gone amok, so I will just post it here. Police have resorted to putting No Stopping signs in front of the Anthony home and issuing citations to individuals who stop to take pictures. WTF is wrong with you people?!? This one guy, in particular, really got under my skin. He brought his kids to the house and then got on camera with the field reporter to attempt to give it noble reasoning. "I brought my kids here to show them what can happen." (with what exactly?)
"I wanted them to see how the world really is." (Oh you mean how insensitive you are by dragging your kid past a house, occupied by a couple, not only suffering the loss of a grandchild but dealing with the fact that their child is on trial for murdering her?)

Seriously, I understand the desire to want to be inside the courtroom; to watch how the case unfolds but what more are you getting, other than satifying some morbid curiousity, driving past the house of the accused murderer's parents?

One thing you can be sure of...there will be no verdict until Nancy Grace is on her set, her make-up war paint on, and her nostrils adjusted for maximum flame.

If the verdict comes back not-guilty, as it should, Nancy's head would undoubtedly explode, and I would sit here and die laughing.

If the only reason for the verdict to come back Not-Guilty is to have Nancy Grace's head explode, then maybe it will all have been worth it :p

What I cannot believe, is some of the people going to the site where poor Caylee was found.

Now, I can understand stopping by, putting flowers and stuffed animals there at a makeshift memorial, but people are taking ******* pictures. What the **** would you want a picture of that for?

(here's the video of people doing just that. )

It's not something I would want to photograph, that is for damn certain. When my sister died many years ago, I don't think anyone took any pictures at her memorial service. If they had, I most likely would have lost my damn mind.....

I can see the spot where Caylee's remains were found turning into a memorial, it's not much different than those markers along the side of streets that mark where pedestrians were killed by automobiles. And I can also see reasons for taking pictures, much like having your picture taken next to the grave site of a celebrity. I realize in this case it's the spot where Caylee was found which seems a little bit morbid, but I can appreciate that many people go there to say a little prayer for her and such too.

But I draw the line at the Anthony home, and agree with the police enforcing the No Stopping policy. Leave the Anthonys alone!!!

Sarah Payne was found very close to my home (at the time) and I went with my mother to lay flowers near the spot. There were so many people the police had set up a system to allow a procession past the array of flowers, which was growing by the hour.

I don't think it was morbid, I think people were just trying to show sympathy, and give the little girl the respect her murderer had not.

Rolfe.

I may have not been clear. I have no problem with people stopping by paying their respects, and making a memorial. What I find crass is the people taking pictures.....

Verdict in.

Will be read at 2:15 EDT.

I am still betting on not guilty, but am willing to be wrong.

It took the OJ Jury only 4 hours.

ETA: Nancy Grace is ON THE SET. Her hair is not ready for prime time.

ftfy...

And lol at your edit.

George Anthony is sitting with his eyes closed and his hands clasped next to his wife Cindy inside the courtroom as they await to hear their daughter's fate.

I wonder which verdict they are rooting for?

Took the judge forever to read it himself.

Not Guilty on all serious charges as she should be, they only convicted her in the gad damn media.

Nancy Grace's head exploding will now commence.

Not Guilty.

It's all good America - a real pretty 18 year old girl was murdered in Massachusetts just the other day - so we can move on to other tabloid fun.

If I were the Judge, I would have sentenced her right then to time served, and sent her home. You don't get more than 2 years for lying to the cops.

I feel just like I did after the OJ verdict. Like being sucker-punched.

Caylee . . . I'm so sorry.
