Je commence a perspirer). To get the accent, ham it up a bit: explore your inner Black Jacques Shellac, then tone it back down. Reading (dual-language editions). Of course for fluency, there's no substitute for French conversation and immersion, but you can pick up a lot on your own with a little practice and effort. Like learning music, calculus, gardening... anything.
