It would suck in real life, but it would make a nice sequel to this.
 
I'm informed by a friend there that it's warm and rather humid but cloudy.
She also says that there is a distinct lack of mushroom clouds, heat pulses or loud explosions and therefore she doesn't think a nuclear "event" has occurred.
However it's early yet, plenty of time for the city to disappear in a nuclear fireball......

1.) I don't agree with the statement that "science proves there is no god".
2.) Prove me wrong, by showing that prophets (people who can reliably predict the future) exist.

Can someone explain to me:

The end of days as I understand the legend will come after the horrific rule of a person once considered to be benign and a person of the people, popular and a world leader?

If this is even partly correct, what political framework in the world today would make one person acceptable as a 'leader' to the entire world? How could such a person arise? Does this not in itself negate any prophecy or idea of an apocalypse?

Well, the tenth has come and gone, with no report of the destruction Washington DC. Do you have any further report on Rev. Vincent Xavier? Here are three possible guesses as to what he's doing now:

1) He's taking credit for the salvation of our capitol, saying that his prayers averted God's wrath.

2) He's gone back to whatever scripture he based his prediction on to recalculate the real day of destruction for Washington DC.

3) he's hiding out in Israel with Dani-El.

It's difficult to figure out exactly what he's done. There's nothing on his website (http://www.newwineministry.net/) but according to references in a forum (http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message508436/pg1) he's changed the date to 11NOV2009. He seems to prophecy destruction a lot, without accuracy.

So that's number 2 on my list: He has recalculated the doom of Washington D.C. to a later date.

I don't know if this is significant or not, but th new date of 11 / 11 / 09 is not only a month and a day later than his first prediction, but it retains the pattern of the month and the day being the same: from 10 / 10 /09 to 11/ 11 /09. It will be interesting to see if, when that date comes and goes, he will recalculate the doom on D.C. as bin on 12 / 12 / 09. If that's the case, it could be sympomatic of some sort of mathematicaly ordered obsessive neurosis (or psychosis).
 
Hard to tell if DC is still there or not. Government doesn't seem to do anything anyway.

09/09/09 would have been much cooler.
 
Well I'm sure he, or someone else, will try again with 10/10/10 as the target date.
However I have *far* more important things planned for that day.

Given that 10/10/09 has changed to 11/11/09, it's quite possible that his original prophecy was indeed 09/09/09. Should that turn out to be the case, he has a plethora of fall-back positions, for example: 10/10/10, 11/11/11 and 12/12/12. Considering that the last of these is in 2012, he could make his next fall-back coincide with the whol Mayan calender crapola: 12/21/12.

Still, how is it possible his followers don't twig onto the fact the man is failed prophet and stone him to death?

They wouldn't be his followers then, would they?

This is exactly the reason why critical thinking is essential: even if you get suckered in by some loon, you still have a way out. Hopefully not too late...
