THE TIME HAS COME ... to speak out against the Lies and Propaganda and let 25,000 of your closest friends know just how you feel about this war and the lying sons of bitches who dragged us into it.

Starting July 5th, freewaybloggers across the nation will begin placing signs on the freeways voicing their opposition to the war. These signs will continue going up through July and August and on until impeachment hearings begin in September.

The Founders of this Nation gave us the right to free political speech for a reason, and at least part of that reason was to sound the alarm if we felt our country, or its democracy was in danger. If you feel that this is an illegal and immoral war, speaking out is not just your right, it's your duty as a citizen. Here's how you do it:

You can remain conservative and swallow the lies this administration has fed our country, or you can exercise your freedom of speech and in the spirit of our rebellious forefathers take passive measures to ensure that all Americans know that their dissatisfaction with this administration IS NOT unpatriotic.

Now, when someone asks what sign you are, tell them; "Bush Lied," or "9/11 + Osama Bin Laden = Iraq?"

Impeachement hearings in September?

But I have no bunnies.

Geez, it's hippy hunting season already? And here's I'm stuck in the city.

You see the real problem here is I'd like an option that's pro-war and liberal.

I can agree that Bush may have been wrong getting us into this war, but he's not wrong about needing to see it through. I just don't trust the Democrat side to understand that when so much of their efforts are anti-war, apparantly wanting us to withdraw immediately, and that's not fair to the Iraqis.

LOL. Either or huh? And in a rebellious spirit I can take passive measures? Don't pass that joint, I don't want any.

The country has made many mistakes, but none so foolhardy as thinking the current crop of socialist hyperbole sprouting from the left is going to make anything better. What it will do is split the country in two. And once we are divided our enemies will not hesitate to pounce on us. They will not spare you just because you helped them destroy America either.

I guess you buy into the, "I'm a uniter," B.S., huh?

And for the record, Bush and his cronies have done more to destroy American than I ever could!

Did someone mention hyperbole?

I'm still waiting to hear what those articles of impeachment are going to look like. Should be good for a few laughs.

When that group of democrats had their pretend hearings in the basement and they repeated the lie about jews knowing to stay away from the WTC on 9/11, did you agree? Or did you start to recognize that the impeach Bush crowd were more than a little unhinged and think perhaps it would be best to separate yourself from them just a little? Or are you simply ignorant of the company you keep? Do tell.

I think that until the liberals/democrats get it thru their heads that Bush is not running again and need not be attacked the results of 2006 & 2008 are going to be republican. You gotta stop living in the past.

Personally I'd like to hear some ideas about the WOT from Democrats. Real ideas about what to do to improve our chances of establishing democracies in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ideas on how to better fight the war. Sadly all I've heard from Dems is "run away, run away!!" and of course "Bush = Hitler!!"

I don't want to see Republicans win again since it means they bring along their religious nutcase cronies. I want to be able to vote for a Democrat who won't gut the war effort....where is this elusive candidate???

There's an article in this week's (the one with President Bush on the cover) Economist about that very thing, I just did a search on their website and the article is only accessible if you have a subscription. But if you're really interested, you should check it out. The democrats it profiles are Mark Warner and Joe Biden and talks about them as an alternative to Hillary Clinton.

Maybe we have some common ground after all. I, too, think it's important for this country's future that everyone comes out in full-force on the 4th of July to protest this war. We all know the slogans by now but to drive this message home on this date would send an undenyable message to ordinary Americans and could very well play a vital role in deciding the political future of this great nation - a tipping point.

I concur. For the record, I think that President Bush has committed one of the worst--if not the worst--offenses in history. He ordered the pre-emptive invasion of a country under false pretenses. We now know that the pretenses were false, and we also know that this was not a mistake made in good faith. The invasion of Iraq should never have taken place.

But it has. And the important question is how we should proceed to deal with a situation that is. We should not make decisions based upon what should have been, while ignoring the situation that actually exists.

It's too late to withdraw. We need to stay there and see things through. As bad as it is for a US presence in Iraq (compounded by President Bush's utter incompetence in several respects), a pullout at this time would be worse. It would not be fair to the Iraqis, as Mycroft said.

We broke it, so we bought it.

You've got a point. After all, the Republicans kept up their personal attacks on Clinton during his second term, and the results were...

... oh, let's not go into that again.

How about improving port security and improving chemical plant security. Two areas that the Republicans have been dragging their feet on and the Democrats have been advocating.

The Bush administration is pouring money into the Star-Wars defense shield as if a nuclear attack is more likely to come on the tip of an ICBM rather than in the hold of a cargo ship.

No, I have a feeling that this is an apple from the Irony Tree.

Ernon...Enron.

For my feelings on the matter though, see Brown's post. We're in it, we probably shouldn't have been, but since we're in it, we need to get the job done and see it through.

The left--as usual--offers up criticism but no real solutions.

Immediate withdrawl from Iraq???........ Is that the solution?

There are thousands of photographs of people protesting Bush.
I haven't seen any evidence that the freedom to do that is being threatened.

Should the "insurgents" win in Iraq however--there will be NO photographs of any protesters.
