Trump insisted in the interview that he does read the PDB — “they like to say I don’t read, I read a lot” — but stood by the claim that the matter “never reached my desk” because U.S. intelligence “didn’t think it was real.”

Not included was this little gem from the video:
I comprehend extraordinarily well. Probably better than anyone you've interviewed in a long time.

Trump's idea of himself is so far beyond reality it's in another galaxy far, far away.

Putin clowns Trump . . . whodathunkit.

Overmatched, outwitted, played like saloon piano. What a leader!

The Senate Report on the connections between Trump's 2016 campaign and Russia makes it clear that everyone who claims that this was just a Hoax is a motivated lair.

For all intents and purposes, Manafort was working for Russia, and Trump jr. and Roger Stone where seeking aid from Russia to get dirt on HRC.
Also, Trump was aware that Putin was using the Trump Tower Moscow as leverage.
Trump lied to Mueller about his knowledge about upcoming WikiLeaks.

Trump voters must think it's great that he get Russian support.

Fox is going into overdrive, never quoting the Report but only what Trump Toadies say about it.

One hopes this puts to rest the notion that poor, innocent Carter Page was illegitimately swept up in a witch hunt.

Senate Report said:
The Carter Page FISA order and renewals are examined in detail in the DOJ OIG FISA Report. While there were several problems with the FBI's FISA renewals for Page, the Committee assesses that Page's previous ties to Russian intelligence officers, coupled with his Russian travel, justified the FBI's initial concerns about Page.

Page's responses to basic questions were meandering, avoidant, and involved several long diversions. Despite the meticulous records Page kept on his personal hard drive detailing his daily routines, he was unable to recall any details of his trips to Moscow, or the names of senior Russian officials with whom he met, despite using his engagements with them to build his credentials within the Campaign.

I also hope for a pony.

Let's ponder how much weight we should assign to...

1. Official report from GOP controlled committee after an investigation
2. An opinion piece

Hmm?

I wasn't intending to rely on an opinion piece in the Hill. It was just the first article that popped up and I thought it would make it clear what story I was talking about without having to look up too much detail. This is hardly a new revelation.

Maybe the senate didn't get the memo.

I haven't read the full report, so I haven't got the context. All you have there is it saying that their initial concerns were justified. That doesn't seem particularly problematic.

What are you claiming? That Carter Page hadn't been working with the CIA, or that there is no evidence the FBI knew this, or that they knew it and didn't conceal it, or what?

I'm claiming that the GOP controlled committee deem the Page investigation justified, and that Page lied like there's no tomorrow.

Your quote says the investigation was "initially justified". Then they lied on multiply FISA applications after they were informed he was a CIA source and fabricated a statement from the CIA to cover this up. "Initially justified" doesn't contradict the idea that they didn't have a justification by the time they got to the FISA applications. Your source doesn't say that he lied.
