Split Thread A second impeachment

It would have been more sensible to have just worn the kippah.

Schoen is just gish galloping.

Well, it might not have even been much noticed if he wasn't drinking so much. Really, the guy better hope for a pee break after his speech.

The way he turns and looks reminds me of the Chocolate Rain kid when he whipped away from the mike to take a breath.

I was right about the nitpicking over the word "and" at some point. He also brought up "shall" as meaning "must", when I think in some previous Republican rant they insisted that "shall" meant "may".

Maybe I was misinterpreting what I had read. Regardless, it appears to be religion related rather than some odd personality quirk.

Now I'm wondering why he isn't just wearing it then? Nonetheless that little quirk is the only thing I am taking out of his whole bluster and nonsense filled "presentation".

If that poem is supposed to be moving, it wasn't.

These guys had no visuals prepared. When 'the book' was read from I couldn't help think about a preacher telling the flock to turn to page...

AAARRRRGGGGJH!!!!

Yes, we get it. 'Trump is a private citizen'. 'We must have due process'. 'We must have fairness'.

Repeat over and over and over again.

'We don't fear democracy. We embrace it.'

<SNORE> ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz

Not enough hair for the bobby pins to hold it on?

For future reference, is there another place where I could see a running commentary on the proceedings by the unwashed masses? I couldn't find one on Reddit and the Twitter thread is specific to one person, as far as I know.

See the Guardian, as well as streaming the video, they are giving a running commentary.

The defense should have taken about one minute:

"As 45 Senators in their wisdom have determined that this is an unconstitutional process, there is no possibility that this Senate will return a verdict of gulity. As the verdict is preordained, let's vote now and go home."

Senate approves constitutionality of the impeachment proceedings
The Senate voted 54-44, affirming that the impeachment trial is constitutional.

Republican senators Collins, Cassidy, Murkowski, Romney, Sasse, and Toomey all voted with Democrats. Senate leader Mitch McConnell, however, sided with the Trump defense on the question of constitutionality.

McConnell the weenie.

Thank god that's over. That was truly awful. If Castor's and Schoen's parents were still alive and paid for their law school, they should sue for their money back.
