Val wants to extend her sincere gratitude to everyone here who has supported her. She is well aware of your efforts. I hope that people on both sides of the issue take this as a reminder that what we do affects real people in the real world.

A year ago the "truth" movement swaggered into New York, oozing optimism. Without the countless hours of effort of a few dozen strangers scattered across the globe, this year's convention of snake oil salesmen might have been even larger and more confident. I haven't seen a single truther leader or follower crow about the success of this year's defensive delusionfest and "general strike." I only wish I knew how to make them understand that when you have no ammunition, circling the wagons only delays the inevitable.

Good work, people.

Glad to hear we are helping some people.

Glad to hear the snake oil, now gone foul, is much harder to sell.

Thanks for your words and the message, Mark. And one can never thank you enough for your tireless efforts.

Excellent work yourself and everyone here. Good to hear the efforts are helping.

This is really cool!

To me, Val helped put a face on the victims of the 9/11 TMers. To them, the people they hurt weren't actually real; they probably held no more significance than the bystanders in Grand Theft Auto, ready to be shot or run over without consequence. But Val exemplified the real people leading real lives, lives that were disrupted by stupid, crazy, immature, and potentially dangerous people to whom the core insanity that held them together as an unhealthy, festering group was far more important than any pain they might cause to others. In a truly just world, Killtown would be locked up somewhere (although I suppose his actual fate is even worse, he has to be himself).

If the efforts of those who participated in this forum have played a part in helping minimize the distruption 9/11 TMers cause to people like Val, and helped these victims resume more normal lives, it was all worth it ten times over. Way to go!

Thanks for sharing that, Gravy.

Ms. McClatchey, if you're reading this: May your future be filled with Serenity.

Good stuff. A good example of the JREF forum doing good work. I've felt bad for Val since I heard her story two years ago. The abuse she's endured from Truthers has been horrendous.

It's interesting that some of the Truthers who post here don't care to comment on the way their comrades have treated Val McClatchy.

I like that last line. I have been the pessimist on whether the 9-11 Denial Movement is growing or contracting, but it certainly appears to me that this year's Trooferpalooza was a big disappointment for the kooks.

Kudos to all who put in the time and effort to debunk these nutbars!

Which I take to mean that they condone the behavior.

"Debunkers" / scientists / rational folk have no problem correcting their peers- telling them when they've stepped over the line. Conspiracists egg each other on in a race to see who can be the most offensive.

exactly Toto...

Gravy is very well respected here, and rightfully so...his work is enormous and top notch. However, when he wrote an unsolicited write up to a fireman recently, that some here felt was a little over the line, many vocalized this without hesitation. Likewise, Gravy took the comments like a gentleman, and responded to those who voiced.

That is the way honest people, grown ups, do things.

I think this is just another symptom of their general illness. Any time a "truther" does anything that a normal human being would be ashamed of, the rest of them simply eject them from the flock - "We don't need to apologize for him - he's a disinfo agent!" It gives them the perfect out to allow truthers to make up any nonsense they want, while still thinking that they are "the good guys". Essentially, they pretend that it is we who are doing all these awful things. Look at some of their threads about the recent activities in NYC - any time anyone there did anything really odd, he was labelled a "JFER", or some other misspelling of JREF.

It never seems to occur to them that at some point, almost everyone in their movement has been disowned as a "disinfo agent", and that, if everyone in their movement at some time does or says something outrageous, then maybe, just possibly, it really is their movement that's doing these things.

every time they use "JREFer" as an insult, or a cuss, I smile. It is solid proof we are getting to them...keeping them on their toes, and acting as the thorn in their side.

I agree.

I just wish they'd learn how to spell it!

I think "JREFer" sounds cool. Plus, the only reason I found out about this forum is from a "LCFer" mentioning the name. It's a good way to advertise. :)

Excellent point. The LCF, and the 10 Million viewings of LC, have acted as our best advertisers as well.

I know I for one, come to the internet and look to "Snopes" and "Hoaxbusters" when something new and bizarre is touted as "true", and I feel we are the "Snopes" so to speak, for 9/11 truth. Thanks LCF for sending so many fence sitters our way.

While I'm skeptical about the magnitude of the effect of the combined efforts of all the members here on the overall size and vigor of the Truth Movement (that is, how much of its recent decline debunkers are actually responsible for), I'm glad to hear that Val McClatchey gets some benefit or at least comfort from the support she's gotten here.

The ongoing work of history, real history of the kind that is done not to support a political agenda but to seek meaningful answers to who we are and what journey we have taken, will benefit from her photograph.

Might some serenity come from the thought that that image, which has caused her more than one kind of grief, will help people understand us, long after we're gone?

Respectfully,
Myriad
