I really don't understand why people who are so convinced it was an "inside job" STILL fail after 11 years to comprehend HOW the towers were built. TIP CLAYTON: They weren't built with Big Blocks™...the tower's stability relied on the fusion of core and outter columns coupled by the floor trusses. When floor trusses failed that stability failed. When collapse initiated the weight of the upper damaged portions crushed down on ONE Floor beneath, which caused that floor to fail, the outter columns peeled away, which is why you twoofers see it as "explosive ejections".

Seriously, please, educate yourself on how the things were built FFS! You can't even comprehend that 11 years later. This is utter nonsense.

What you don't think about is office contents burning inside the buildings, but that's no surprise. Now, can you provide some proof of your claim that these sections were "hermetically sealed"? Can you explain what hermetically sealed means?

As a child of four can plainly see, those towers had been hermetically sealed. They'd been kept in a #2 mayonnaise jar on Funk and Wagnall's porch since noon that day.

Anyway, you don't need to take my word for the amount of energy stored in the. WTC towers due to their mass and height; you can calculate it yourself using a little calculus and physics. Look up the equation in an early 1900 physics textbook if you are afraid of a 9/11 conspracy. Whatever brought the towers down must have released that amount of energy!

So what do you think 200 tons of TNT would do to a black box or an iPad?

Do you want to start a poll on if the missing black boxes are evidence of no planes? I predict you will have at least one supporter here, so it is sure to go better than your HPV poll in another thread. But I think you haven't convinced the vast majority of people here. You may wish to change your approach and research some of the physics, the debris field, the conditions after the collapse, and the construction of the black boxes. You may even change your own views....

Oh God, enough of this truther stupidity. "Hermetic seal" means airtight. The fact that the buildings had an HVAC system - something which is the antithesis of a hermetic seal, given that the "V" in HVAC stands for "ventilation" - as well as entryways such as doors to allow people in clearly proves that the towers were not hermetically sealed.

And no, the fire smoke dampers do not count as creating hermetic seals during a fire. They at best help restrict air movement within the HVAC system itself, not the whole damn building, and only when triggered. People talking about "hermitc seals" cannot ignore the fact that even if dampers did reach that level of closure that such seals would be broken by people utilizing egress routes to get the hell out of the burning building.

This is utter stupidity. Why was this point even raised? The fact that it's a building instead of being a crypt, vault, or something similar is the first and only clue anyone needs to recognize the stupidity of the claim.

Man we - and I include myself in this, since I'm guily of it too - should stop engaging folks who make the really, seriously stupid claims and just stick 'em on ignore when the first truther buzzword appears. "Hermetic seal" in the context of the Twin Towers fire should be one of those triggering terms.

It must have come from a conspiracy addict who was told of the fire/smoke dampers in the towers and immediately lept to the conclusion that they created a hermetic seal for the entire tower and not just the ductwork. From what I can find out, it doesn't even reach a true airtight seal in that case; everything you read about dampers gets put in the context of fire/smoke spread prevention in the ducts, not elimination or total suffication.

Even if the seals were hermetic, the presence of the gaping holes from the jets impacts would've rendered them irrelevant. But at least that's consistent for the truthers, since some of them maintain that there were no jets there to begin with... :rolleyes:

If memory serves. This "hermetically sealed" comes from Loose Change. They were referring to the elevator shafts. I believe it was to counter the argument that the explosions in the basement were from a fireball down the shafts.

Anyway you slice it, it's still stupid.

It is a long time since we saw a genuine truther engaging in reasoned debate.

The only one remaining who goes even close is Tony Sz and his recent postings show desperation rather than reason. The rest are trolling pure and simple and responding to trolls is always counter productive. It gives them exactly what they are seeking - ego stroking.
