9/11: the musical...

Hey Avery (to the tune of Hey Mickey by Toni Basil)

Oh Avery, you're asinine.
You're asinine, you blow my mind, hey Avery, hey Avery
Oh Avery, you're asinine.
You're asinine, you blow my mind, hey Avery, hey Avery
Oh Avery, you're asinine.
You're asinine, you blow my mind, hey Avery, hey Avery
Oh Avery, you're asinine.
You're asinine, you blow my mind, hey Avery...

Hey Avery.
You've had your run online and it's a little long.
You think you've got it right, but I know you've got it wrong.
Why can't you say "All right!" so you can rest my mind, Avery.

Cause when you say you know, I know really don't.
It gives me a headache Avery, go away it won't.
Every time you still kill a brain cell, Avery.

Oh Avery, what a pity, you don't understand.
Your film is total bunk, and I'm talking to your hand.
Oh Avery, you're so nutty, can't you understand.
It's guys like you Avery.
It's what you do Avery, do Avery.
Don't break my mind Avery.

Hey Avery!
Now everytime we argue, who's ever gonna know?
On your forum, you decide those threads gotta go.
It's info you can use! So don't say no, Avery...

So come on and learn it Dylan, anyway you can.
Suck it up and do the research, take it like a man.
Oh please Avery, please, don't start it all again Avery...

Oh Avery, what a pity, you don't understand.
Your film is total bunk, and I'm talking to your hand.
Oh Avery, you're so nutty, can't you understand.
It's guys like you Avery.
It's what you do Avery, do Avery.
Don't break my mind Avery.

Oh Avery, what a pity, you don't understand.
Your film is total bunk, and I'm talking to your hand.
Oh Avery, you're so nutty, can't you understand.
It's guys like you Avery.
It's what you do Avery, do Avery.
Don't break my mind Avery...

I'm also working on "Bohemian Grove Rhapsody" as performed by Alexi
"Dimethylmercury" Jones and the Government Shills. I'll post it up when I get done.

Inspired by these works, I'd like like to present a song to the tune of Schism by Tool:

They know the pieces fit, cuz they watch the videos
Wreckage-less smoldering, evidence all differing.
The deception now exposed will set the nation's souls in motion
Investigating as they go, calling for extermination.
The plane that fueled the fire could not bring down the towers both so
They have to conclude that they were destroyed with a demolition.

They know the floors were blown cuz they watched them tumble down
No facts, none to find, it doesn't mean they don't desire to
Point the finger, blame the leaders, watch their story topple over.
To bring the questions back together, rediscover investigation

The ridicule that comes from the debunking online,
And the friendless life is worth it.
Finding The Truth in the videos.

There was no time that the theories fit, and I watched them break away.
Exposed and splintering, strangled by our debunking
I've done the math enough to know the errors of their broken theories
Doomed to crumble unless they grow, and accept the world's reality.

Cold science has a tendency to atrophy any
Thought of likelihood
In their supposed theories

My latest creation is now available for download from http://www.mediamax.com/qarnos (scroll down). I'll have to find a better place to host these. I'm checking out several alternatives at the moment.

The song is "Loose Change Forums", with apologies to America's "Ventura Highway".

I think I might have to do some moon hoax ones. The troofers make 9/11 ones too easy, and I do feel a little bad about making these 9/11 songs, even tho we're on the "good" side.

LYRICS said:
Chewing over the facts, walking down the road.
Tell me, can we convince them, Joe?
Some people say they really just don't want to know.
Don't waste your time - don't go.

The Loose Change Forums are the troofers shrine.
Where their claims are wrong and the truth stretched longer most every time.
You're gonna go, I know-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa.

But you won't stand a chance in there.
The truth is whatever they declare.
Facts and reason, they won't bare.
Crackpot theories in the air.
In the air.

Dooo-do-do-doo...

Bet you're gonna tell them, now, that they should back up their claims.
Sorry, boy, but they don't play that game.
You can go back, though. You'll just have to change your name.
It'll drive them insane.

The Loose Change Forums are the troofers shrine.
Where their claims are wrong and the truth stretched longer most every time.
You're gonna go, I know-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa-whoa.

To the tune of REM's "Man In The Moon":

JFK said we're gonna go to the moon, yeah yeah yeah yeah
NASA guys said Johnny it's too soon, yeah yeah yeah yeah
Doctor Van Allen said that you'll be fried, yeah yeah yeah yeah
So we never went, no we never tried, yeah yeah yeah yeah

NASA really fooled us on this one
Made us think we're winning the race
NASA tell us why we can't see the stars
Out in outer space

(Chorus)

If you believe, they put a man on the moon
You're just a fool
It's plain to see, you know the flag shouldn't move
Don't be a stooge

I need more verses... I'll think of them later...

Nicely done, qarnos!

:D Well done, qarnos!! :D
I especially like the part,
"But you won't stand a chance in there.
The truth is whatever they declare."

I think I understand what you mean. It's a bit childish slagging them off, even though we are right not to believe in their conspiracy delusions.

I'd like to see some songs that succinctly debunk the twoofers' actual claims, rather than ones that paint them all with the same brush as being stupid.

Hence, while I can see they're being sarcastic, those moon hoax lyrics, jhunter could have been written by a hoax believer. Well, a creative hoax believer.

Thanks! I was quite happy with the way it turned out in the end. There was only one disappointment for me - the original lyrics I wrote were from the perspective of the narrator criticizing the current LC forum members, and the first line you quoted was, originally, "'cos you feel so important there". I really liked that line and it was a shame I couldn't work it into the final song.

Yes. That, and the fact that a lot of people suffered and died on 9/11. It feels a bit wrong to be making fun of anything to do with it, even if it is just the troofers. I just need to remind myself of why we are here - to defend the real truth from the delusional truth. Some people respond better to ridicule than reason.

I've been working on that aspect of it. The problem it trying to get stuff to rhyme! I find that Moon conspiracy claims are easier to rhyme than 9/11 ones.

For example, this piece I've been working on which is a parody of Don McLeans "Vincent" (Starry Starry Night).

A starry, starry sky.
Would be proof that Apollo was fake.
Because you can't see the stars in space,
When you're standing in the daylight on The Moon.

Still a lot of lyrics to go, though!

I've written a couple of parodies which I scrapped for that very reason. I like the Man on the Moon song but a believer could also claim it as a song supporting them. The sarcasm is, to me, quite obvious, but CTers seem to have a problem with that kind of thing - Look at the LC forums response to the 9/11 South Park episode. Some of them, including Mr. Avery himself, thought it was a good thing!

I wonder if any of them have listened to this stuff. In particular, I wonder if Killtown heard the Killtown song. :D

That's what I was going for, Orphia. The whole moon-hoax thing is so obviously wacky I didn't feel it needed much debunking. So I thought I'd do it from the POV of a believer.

In other musical news, I've been rehearsing the Twoofer version of "The Boxer" and would be more than happy to record it. ;)

And, Orphia, why is your breast winking at me? I'm a married man.

Oh, man! You beat me to it! I was trying to think of something for that one, too!

All I could come up with was the chorus: Lie lie lie. Lie lie lie lie lie lie lie.

ETA: If you want to record it, send the vocals to me. I promise I won't take 6 months this time.

I suppose the "you" could me misinterpreted, too.

Yes, there is that underlying seriousness that must be at least touched upon.

Fantastic start!!! :) Great!

I know! I had quotes from Matt Stone (on Penn Jillette's show) and Dylan Avery in my signature for a while. I also posted them in the South Park thread.

I wonder if any of them have listened to this stuff. In particular, I wonder if Killtown heard the Killtown song. :D

Yes, I wonder. I'm between bannings at the LCF (i.e. Banned) or I'd post it there for him to see. Unless he's suspended again for his no-plane stance.

Sorry, John. I've got a sore spot about Moon Hoax believers since my hubby voiced a few doubts himself last year a couple of times. I shot his arguments down in flames both times, and he hasn't mentioned it again, but then, he hasn't totally admitted he was wrong, either. For his part, he thinks conspiracy theories such as 9/11 are BS, though. He is a sweetie, but that episode drove me nuts!

In other musical news, I've been rehearsing the Twoofer version of "The Boxer" and would be more than happy to record it. ;)

Yay!

And, Orphia, why is your breast winking at me? I'm a married man.

My boob winked because you probably shouldn't have been looking, should you? ;)

Regarding the serious side of 9/11, and using comedy to make a point, watch 'Life is Beautiful'.

I never thought anything about what Jews went through in Nazi concentration camps could be seen on a lighter note, but this film is amazing in capturing the tragedy, and still being incredibly funny through most of it.

I avoided it for years because it was advertised as a comedy about the concentration camps, which doesn't do it any justice for the points it makes and the way it tackles the subject. When I finally saw a scene that didn't match what I had been led to believe, I watched it, and it is now one of my most treasured dvds.

I thought I'd try a more positive spin.. instead of attacking, celebrating the JREF.

Tune: "Love Grows (Where My Rosemary Goes)" by Edison Lighthouse

I'm a clever fella
But I gotta tell ya
I don't buy conspiracy

Oh, the truth grows where the JREFer goes
And no one debunks like me

Some people get lazy
When folks start talkin' crazy
But that style just ain't for me

Oh, the truth grows where the JREFer goes
And no one debunks like me

There's something about the JREFer mind
It's the critical kind
And it just makes you say, "Hey!"
We really give conspiracists hell
And we do it so well
That they just run away

I'm a clever fella
And I gotta tell ya
Bigfoot couldn't ever be

Oh, the truth grows where the JREFer goes
And no one debunks like me

There's something about the JREFer mind
It's the critical kind
And it just makes you say, "Hey!"
We really give conspiracists hell
And we do it so well
That they just run away

I'm a clever fella
And I gotta tell ya
UFOs just ain't for me

Oh, the truth grows where the JREFer goes
And no one debunks like me

Spread those facts everywhere I go
No one debunks like me

If you debate me, you're liable to hate me
No one debunks like me

ETA: I never realized how repetitive that song is...

I'm going to have that in my head all day now. :) That really makes me giggle.

@ Qarnos:

You can find my lyrics at post #157 in this thread. Any suggestions to improve it would be welcome. Also, I know I left out a verse.. I'll come up with something.

Post #157 is Rahne Everson's "Hey Avery" (Hey Micky)

Did you mean #247 - Man on the Moon?
