Merged 9/11 No Plane/Energy Weapon discussion thread

I am curious, what is your PhD in and what university awarded it? Since you seem to think that such high levels of knowledge are required to "understand" Judy Wood.

"The irrepressible MMB, complete with diamond studded tiara, entertained a crowd of thousands as she stripped to loud cheers and applause, revealing a hand-painted marijuana leaf where a fig leaf should be and the slogan 'Medical Marijuana' inscribed on her bum."

That got attention alright, but from the photos accompanying the press release, it's easy to see why the audience was cheering, and it had nothing do with marijuana.

Medical Marijuana Barbie is a character created by Tracy Blevins, comptroller for New York's Medical Marijuana Party, and is the star attraction of Blevins' one-woman "Medical Marijuana Traveling Circus Sideshow," designed to garner support for the legalization of medical pot.

Besides her breasts, the best thing Blevins has going for her cause is a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Texas Houston Medical School. "I get 'em with the Barbie and keep 'em when they hear about the Ph.D.," she told the Palm Beach Post in November 2000.

But does she? Sure, parting with a bra and panties is going to pull some eyes. But what do the gawkers support, legalizing medpot or your bust? Will they become bosom buddies with the cause or simply your bosoms?

A serious scholar indeed!

If you haven't spent a hell of a lot of time reading Dr. Wood, then
you don't understand Dr. Wood. Simple enough.

I strongly disagree.

Her book, I have been told, is just a hard-copy of her insane ramblings on her website. Any rational intelligent person need only peruse her idiotic output there for a few minutes to "understand" that she is batcrap crazy. And listening to some of her mad (sometimes hilarious) musings with Fetzer, Ace Baker, Hutchison, Reynolds and reading the unfaltering adoration of her sychophantic acolytes here just reinforces the hopelessness of her case.

Anyway, good luck with that.

Indeed!

Has anyone else noticed that the people who tend to throw around their PhD are those who most likely have to lean on it for any sense of credibility? All of the best scholars I know never call themselves Dr or put PhD after their name, they are called Dr by others out of respect.

Ill have my PhD in about 2 years and I wouldn't be caught dead listing it anywhere except the education section of my vita and business cards (and only business cards of the university requires it).

This one even puts PhD in her twitter account for goodness sakes.

I wouldn't disrespect Judy Wood if she wasn't making money off of her clap-trap. If she could act like other mentally ill people, I would instead pity her.

Definitely don't (and I'm sure you won't have cards printed for yourself saying:

DR. WUMPLLEY BLURGEON, PhD

as a local in these parts did. Much, behind her back, laughter ensued.

'Disrespect' is a noun, not a verb. Try and use the word correctly.

[OT] It is also a transitive verb when used with an object. [/OT]

That aside, Judy Wood has earned no respect whatsoever for her ludicrous bleatings about the events of 9/11 but she most certainly has earned complete and utter disrespect for those bleatings.

A brief off topic post, but I have a story!:

Wow...yeah that won't be happening. I know some of them require (as my current school does) that you list your highest degree after your name if its a professional masters (MBA/MPA/MPP/etc.) or any type of doctorate, but I definately won't prefacing it with Dr. LightinDarknes :D

That reminds me of a women I worked for in undergrad in a university office - she *demanded* to have Dr. SoandSo PhD, MA, BA put on her cards, and went nuclear if you do not address her as Dr. at every opportunity. All of her degrees were in English, from good schools too, but it had nothing to do with the position she was working in. That was my first exposure to "people who insist on throwing around the doctorate" personalities. And although I am sure there are exceptions to the rule, so far I'm batting 100%: those who obsess over listing their PhD everywhere and making other people call them Dr. have so far all been doing it to hide their academic, professional, or intellectual shortcomings.

Not that Dr. WTC Dust is doing that or anything...and now we return back to the topic of us all just not being smart enough to understand Dr. Wood's...lasers hypothesis.

In scientific fields, respect is an Earned quality. It is not granted automatically just because someone has parts of the alphabet following a comma behind their name...

This drives me nuts and it's a tactic used over and over again by the Truth Movement. They go on the attack, then someone attacks them and they, of all people, play the victim. This isn't school where we respect everybody no matter what. If somebody says something stupid, people should criticize them for it. That's the way life works.

I have a masters degree. Please call me "MASTER CARLITOS." And let me know what your safe word is.

If anyone can link or pm me the good Dr's dissertation abstract, I'd be much obliged.

Well I was looking for that myself, Master ;) I thought it would be easy to at least find the title since most academics always have their vita posted on their departments website. The alumni page of her program lists her current employer as Rice University's Department of Bioengineering. However, that departments website doesn't list her anywhere, and I checked the adjunct and research staff listings. The googles reveals that Dr. Blevins lost her job as an adjunct at "Touro College" in 2011, and was recently spending her time Occupying Wall Street. Of particular interest is that she is still paying her loans all these years later - $10,000 was left at the time of that article written in late 2011.

Now, color me confused. Dr. Blevin's post here leads me to believe that she is EXTREMELY smart, because her point in this very post is that only the very smart people are smart enough to understand Dr. Woods. I am left wondering then, how is it that someone SO SMART had to PAY for a higher education and 11 years after graduation was still working as a non-tenured adjunct faculty member. I am not nearly as smart as Dr. Blevin, since I don't appreciate Dr. Woods hypothesis, yet somehow my entire graduate schooling has been paid for by my department and I already have some tentative tenure-track job offers.

And I'm not even in an important hard science field!

Poor crazy Ms. Wood has attracted another degreed incompetent, whose central premise ("dustification") is immediately and definitively refuted? I'm not surprised. I hope they get compassionate mental health care, but as one of several people who quantitatively refuted Ms. Wood's vague ramblings years ago in this forum, I'm well aware the whole no-plane-undefined-beam fantasy is about irrelevant people seeking attention. I put the poor OP on ignore some time ago, but the world at large and science in particular beat me to it. Pretty sad, really.

HAHAHAH it's ranked #2,804,394 on their best sellers list...what'd 5 people buy it?!Even DRG's nonsense New Pearl Harbor book is #233,654.

2.5 million rank difference...yeah that's some serious science there DOCTOR Woods.

Yep. Looks like she's really respected in her field.

I checked out Judy Wood's ramblings on the web. She is as mad as a hatter. Hasn't she got a caring family who could get her into therapy?

I can speak eloquently and with detailed knowledge of
Steven Jones work, unlike most of Judy Wood's detractors.
When they speak of her work, they don't even use the
right words. They don't display a thorough knowledge of
the subject matter, compared to the intensity of their
criticism.

You begin by equating disrespect with derogation. Your choice of terms here is interesting.

Pointing out that Steven Jones is "an enemy of the United States" and "evil" isn't derogatory?

You don't think that your words detract from his character or express a low opinion of him? I'm calling into quesion here your definition of the word derogatory. Please explain.

You took the easy way out, then. Gage's work isn't his own work.
He's not a scientist. He's passing on the faulty thermite theory,
which is extremely easy to rebut.

Dr. Wood's work on the other hand, has been untouchable up
until this date. Mackey might be proud of himself, but his
analysis added something extra (the positioning of the weapon)
that is highly questionable and not a part of Wood's work.

I spent some 1500 hours rebutting Richard Gage's claims. I disagree with every scientific claim he makes that he uses to assert Controlled Demolition but it took a long long time to understand his claims. Many people have asked me to look at Judy Wood's work and study it with the same care and respect I gave Richard Gage. I say no thanks, I've done enough, someone else can carefully rebut JW but I guarantee it won;t be me. Too much brain damage for one lifetime.

Wood studies the destruction of the WTC. She has no
reason to speak of planes.

Disrespect Dr. Wood?

Sure do, and will continue to do so.

Before any discussion of her imaginary weapon system can be discussed, the good doctor is first and foremost, a no-planer. A theory so incredibly daft it renders any further disccussion on the topic moot. Even more so when she cannot or will not define whatever this imaginary weapon is.

Hmmm. Seems you like Tesla. Do you realize that Wood's
thesis is that it was a Tesla weapon? Just asking.

Insanity is a real thing. I deliver food to the homeless on
a regular basis, and therefore have to deal with insanity on
a regular basis.

Calling someone like Dr. Wood "insane" is disrespecting (verb)
the insane, who are actually sad creatures and need our help.

Her work does is the closest anyone got to an accurate
description of the mechanism of destruction of the WTC.
Calling her insane doesn't change this.

You aren't serious, are you? So every person who comes up with an insane notion must be afforded respect regardless of the insanity of the notion? I hope that works in WTC Dust world; I've yet to see it played out for any continuing length of time in the real world. Human beings are imperfect beings with a finite amount of patience. We tend to parcel it out where it's most deserved

Were we referring to a scientist of the proved stature of Nicola Tesla, you might have a point.

But we're not. We're referring to someone Rube Goldbergising basic physics while applying Smacco's Razor to a non-problem.
